Set during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in the Philippines, *Quaranthings: The Series* follows Judah, a flamboyantly out and proud gay man, and Rocky, a stoic, closeted breadwinner, who become unlikely housemates after a lockdown forces them to quarantine together in a cramped apartment. What begins as awkward cohabitation soon blossoms into a deep, complicated connection as they navigate class differences, family obligations, internalized homophobia, and the emotional toll of isolation. With sharp, socially conscious dialogue and authentic performances, the series explores the messy realities of love and self-discovery when the outside world is off-limits. More than just a pandemic romance, *Quaranthings* is a raw, heartfelt look at how being confined forces us to confront our truest selves—and the people who see us clearly. Balancing humor with gut-wrenching drama, this underrated gem proves that even in the smallest spaces, love can find a way to bloom.

I absolutely adored Judah and Rocky's journey. Their chemistry felt so raw and real, and every emotional beat hit me hard. The final episode had me crying happy tears. This is the kind of authentic love story that stays with you.

While the dialogue is smart, the plot relies too heavily on convenient coincidences. The pacing drags in the middle episodes, and Judah's character becomes frustratingly obsessive. The ending feels rushed despite the strong setup.

This series deserves praise for its unflinching look at class and internalized homophobia. The scenes addressing economic struggle and conversion therapy were powerful. However, I wish the show had addressed consent more explicitly in the drunk sex scene.

The OST 'Sansinukuban' is absolutely beautiful and perfectly captures the longing of quarantine. Karl's rendition gives me chills. The background music is effective but sometimes a bit repetitive. Still, the music elevated the emotional scenes.

Despite the low budget, the camera work is surprisingly thoughtful, especially in intimate conversations. The use of shallow focus and the warm color palette create a cozy, confined atmosphere. Those phallus paintings in the living room were an odd choice though.
