I've been craving a BL that takes its time building the emotional connection, and Qing Gu delivered beautifully. The Miao setting felt so fresh, and the way Shen Jian Qing's walls slowly crumble had me crying by episode 8. A true slow-burn masterpiece.

The cinematography and music are lovely, but the plot drags in the middle and some side characters feel underdeveloped. The central romance is sweet, but the pacing could have been tighter to keep the emotional stakes high.

Every frame of Qing Gu is a painting. The use of natural light in the Miao villages, the vibrant traditional costumes, and the dreamy color grading made me pause so many times just to admire the visuals. Pure eye candy for a cinematography geek like me.

I appreciate that the drama handles the power dynamics between the leads with care—no dubious consent or coercion. The protagonist's internal struggle with his feelings feels realistic and respectful. A solid choice for viewers who value ethical romance narratives.

The soundtrack is hauntingly beautiful. That acoustic guitar theme that plays during Shen Jian Qing's quiet moments? I've had it on repeat for weeks. The music perfectly captures the bittersweet longing at the heart of this story.
