Overlooked Love is a poignant Filipino LGBTQIA+ anthology that weaves together the stories of individuals fighting for acceptance, dignity, and love within their families and communities. Through a single, tightly woven episode, it spotlights a gay man navigating his conservative parents' expectations, a lesbian couple struggling for recognition, a transgender teen seeking affirmation, and an asexual person confronting societal assumptions about relationships. Each narrative is treated with heartfelt sincerity, capturing the quiet triumphs and painful setbacks of being true to oneself. What makes this series special is its refusal to shy away from real-world struggles—homophobia, familial rejection, and internalized shame—while still offering moments of tender connection and hope. The cast delivers raw, natural performances that ground the drama in lived experience, and the direction emphasizes intimate conversations over melodrama. Perfect for viewers seeking a realistic, emotional glimpse into the diverse experiences of the LGBTQIA+ community in the Philippines.

I really wanted to love this more, but the romance felt a little rushed and the acting was uneven. Still, the scene between the gay son and his mom had me in tears. It's raw and honest, and I'm glad these stories are being told.

The intentions are noble, but the execution is messy. Each story feels like a checklist of LGBTQ+ tropes without enough depth or natural dialogue. The editing is choppy and some performances are wooden. A noble failure.

I appreciate the attempt at intimate, close-up storytelling, but the lighting is inconsistent and the color grading feels like a soap opera. A few shots are beautifully framed, but overall it lacks the polished visual language of better Filipino BLs.

Despite its flaws, this series is important for showing the diversity within the community—especially the asexual storyline, which is still rare. It honestly portrays the pressure to come out and the pain of conditional acceptance. Not perfect, but it made me think.

I came for the gay lead but stayed for the lesbian couple—they had the most chemistry and screen presence! Unfortunately, their story was too short and ended abruptly. I wish the whole episode had focused on them instead of trying to cover everything.
