In the gentle Thai short film 'Our First Time', we meet Sud Yod, a popular live game streamer whose long hours hunched over a keyboard have left him with a stubborn backache. A gift voucher for a free two-hour hot oil massage from a famous spa seems like the perfect solution—until he arrives to discover that all the regular masseurs are busy. Instead, the shy young receptionist Num Un, who just happens to be a devoted fan of Sud Yod's channel, nervously offers to give the massage himself. What follows is a beautifully quiet, intimate half-hour where two strangers navigate the awkward, tender space of a 'first time'—first massage, first meeting, first spark of something more. Directed by Nicchi and produced by the beloved Wayufilm team, this short film captures the magic of serendipitous connection with minimal dialogue and maximum heartfelt emotion. The actors bring an authentic, almost documentary-like realism to their performances, making every hesitant smile and lingering glance feel profoundly meaningful. It's a slice-of-life romance that proves you don't need melodrama to leave a lasting impression—just two souls brave enough to be vulnerable.

This was the sweetest thing I've watched all year! The way Num Un shyly looks at Sud Yod with pure admiration, and Sud Yod's gentle encouragement—I was grinning the entire time. It's so simple but my heart felt so full. Definitely a comfort watch!

I appreciate what they were going for, but the pacing was honestly painful. Conversations that last ten minutes with only three sentences? I kept wanting to fast-forward. The acting is fine, but the silence isn't 'deep' to me—it's just slow. Not my cup of tea.

The cinematography is deceptively simple—mostly one interior set—but the color grading is warm and inviting, and the close-ups capture every flicker of emotion. I loved how the awkward pauses were framed; it felt like watching a real, unscripted moment. A visual treat from Wayufilm.

I appreciated the focus on consent and comfort during the massage scene, with Sud Yod repeatedly checking in on Num Un. However, the power imbalance of fan/idol is barely addressed—Num Un seems to have orchestrated the meeting via the voucher, which felt a bit icky to me. Still, a sweet story overall.
