In the bustling heart of Seoul, confident college student Ho Won thinks he’s seen it all at the local gay bar—until a quiet, older man named Min U catches his eye. Intrigued by the challenge of a patron rumored to be unapproachable, Ho Won boldly makes his move, only to be met with blunt resistance. Min U is old-fashioned, reserved, and seems entirely out of place in the vibrant nightlife scene. As Ho Won persistently tries to break through Min U’s walls, a delicate push-and-pull unfolds that reveals hidden vulnerabilities, unspoken desires, and an age gap that forces both to confront societal judgments. This short-form Korean BL series explores the tension between reckless youth and cautious maturity, asking whether love can truly bridge worlds that seem destined to clash. With its brisk 8-episode format, “Opposites Attract” hooks viewers with a classic trope while delivering earnest emotional beats that linger long after the credits roll.

I can't get over how lifeless this entire production is. The main lead's performance drags the already thin script into a coma. The bartender character was just irritating, and the logic behind the characters' decisions made no sense. The only saving grace was the rookie actor, but even he couldn't save this trainwreck. A hard pass.

I wanted to love this because the premise is cute, but the technical execution was painful. The camera work is shaky and poorly framed, the sound mix is off, and the color grading is flat. Even the music felt mismatched to the scenes. The kissing scenes were okay, but they couldn't compensate for the overall amateurish look. Disappointing.

As someone who usually gets drawn in by a great OST, I was shocked at how wrong the music choices were here. The background score felt like it was from a completely different show—sometimes even distracting from the dialogue. The actors seemed to be fighting against the sound design. A real letdown for my ears.

I appreciate that the show tries to address manipulation and the power dynamics of an age-gap relationship, but it fumbles badly. The romanticized line 'you can use me and throw me away' is a red flag, and the dismissal of female students felt unnecessary and misogynistic. There's potential for a deeper conversation here, but it's wasted on poor execution.
