Welcome to the messy, intoxicating world of *Only Friends*, where the lines between friendship, lust, and love are blurred beyond recognition. Follow a group of sharp, ambitious business students—Mew, Ray, Boston, and Namchueam—who run a hostel together while navigating a web of tangled relationships. Mew, who has sworn off romance to focus on his studies, finds his resolve tested by the charming and mysterious Top. Meanwhile, alcoholic and emotionally needy Ray pursues a no-strings-attached arrangement with cynical bartender Sand, while serial flirt Boston toys with the affections of sweet, infatuated Nick. As secrets, betrayals, and explosive confrontations erupt, each character must decide what they truly want—and whether they're willing to risk everything for it. Spicy, unpredictable, and gloriously messy, this series offers a rare, adult look at queer friendships and modern love in Bangkok.

I am absolutely OBSESSED with SandRay. First and Khaotung have this electric tension that makes every scene sizzle. Ray is such a broken mess but Sand's patience and love made me cry multiple times. The smoke kiss? Iconic. The rooftop confession? I rewatched it ten times. Yes, the plot has holes, but who cares when the chemistry is this powerful? My heart is theirs.

I came for SandRay but stayed for BostonNick—what a wild, painful, beautiful trainwreck. Mark and Neo killed it. The way Nick finally chose himself at the end was the most satisfying moment in the whole show. Boston is a walking red flag but somehow I still rooted for him. The main couple TopMew bored me to tears, though. More BostonNick screen time, please!

The actors are phenomenal—especially Khaotung and Neo—but this show is a textbook case of style over substance. The writing keeps introducing new side characters (Boeing, really?) that go nowhere, and the main couples make up way too easily after huge betrayals. Mew's whole 'bad boy' arc with that silver chain was laughable. Entertaining mess, but don't expect deep storytelling. Solid 6/10.

Visually, this is one of GMMTV's best-looking shows. The neon-lit bars, the rain-soaked streets, the intimate close-ups during hookups—every frame is dripping with mood. The opening credits are a work of art, and the color palette shifts beautifully from warm lust to cold heartbreak. The OST (especially Khaotung's song) fits the vibe perfectly. If only the script matched the cinematography's ambition.

I appreciate that Only Friends tackles queer adult issues like alcoholism, hookup culture, and therapy. But it often glorifies toxic behavior without real consequences. The slut-shaming of Boston, the way Atom's lie about assault is brushed aside, and the message that all you need is love (even after cheating) feels irresponsible. Mark's Nick was the only character who actually grew. Needs more ethical nuance, but still a step forward for Thai BL.
