When unemployed Sul Won is left to manage his mother's low-cost boarding house, he expects a quiet, mundane life. Instead, he finds himself at the center of a chaotic, heartwarming household filled with colorful residents: his mischievous cousin, a former college friend with unresolved feelings, a reserved high school teacher, and an enigmatic art student. As Sul Won navigates the daily dramas of shared living, unexpected sparks fly between him and one of the boarders, leading to a tender, awkward, and utterly charming romance. Adapted from a popular webtoon, this Korean BL film balances laugh-out-loud comedy with genuine emotional stakes, exploring themes of self-discovery, found family, and the courage to love openly. While the movie condenses the story from its series counterpart, it retains the cozy, slice-of-life charm and the irresistible chemistry that makes this boarding house feel like home.

I absolutely adored the chemistry between Sul Won and his crush! Their shy smiles and little touches made my heart flutter. Yes, the editing is a bit choppy, but the warm, found-family vibe more than makes up for it. I’ve rewatched the kitchen scene three times already!

The movie feels like a highlight reel of a better series. So many character moments are missing—I barely understood why the teacher was so grumpy. The romance is cute but rushed. I recommend the series version for a coherent story. Still, it’s harmless fun if you don’t mind gaps.

As a fan of the original webtoon, I was excited but slightly disappointed. The casting is perfect, and they nailed the humor, but the movie cuts out key subplots (especially for Bong Deok). It’s still a pleasant watch, just not as deep as the source material. Stick to the series if you want the full story.

The background music is a bit overpowering at times—it drowns out the dialogue in a few scenes. But the main OST track is super catchy and fits the lighthearted mood. I found myself humming it for days. Wish they had balanced the audio mixing better, though.

Refreshing to see a Korean BL that normalizes queer romance without heavy trauma. The slow-burn respects boundaries—every hug is earned. I appreciated that the show treats homosexuality as just another part of life. Plus, the diverse housemates (including a supportive gay side character) add lovely representation.
