In the stark, black-and-white world of Seoul, 'Nowhere to Go' follows Hyeon Su and Dong Gyu, two teenage runaways clinging to each other for survival. When they cross paths with Min Jung, a member of a clandestine community known as the 'Runaway Family,' they are offered shelter—but at a cost. Hyeon Su is desperate for a safe haven, while the wary Dong Gyu resists, sensing danger beneath the family's promises. As tensions rise and their bond is tested, the film explores themes of trust, sacrifice, and the desperate search for belonging. With its intimate black-and-white cinematography and raw performances, this short film captures the fragile beauty of a love born in the margins of society. A poignant, unfiltered look at youth, homelessness, and queer identity in Korea.

I'm a sucker for raw, understated love stories, and this one hit me right in the heart. The way Hyeon Su and Dong Gyu hold onto each other despite everything—I was holding my breath the whole time. The black-and-white made their pain and tenderness even more beautiful. Yes, it's short and not flashy, but that's exactly why I loved it.

I appreciate the attempt at realism, but the story just didn't go anywhere. The characters are cardboard—Min Jung is sketchy without depth, and the conflict between the leads feels repetitive. The ending left me unsatisfied. It's a decent time-waster if you're bored, but don't expect a gripping narrative.

Visually, this film is a gem. The choice to shoot in black-and-white was brilliant—it strips away distractions and forces you to focus on the characters' faces and the textures of their worn-out world. The lighting in the bathhouse scene is pure art. I only wish the script had more layers to match the cinematography.

I liked that the film didn't romanticize being a runaway—it showed manipulation, fear, and the trade-offs kids make to survive. But the power dynamics with Min Jung are unsettling and not fully examined. There's also a scene that felt sexually coercive even though it's between the leads; it could have been handled with more care. Worth discussing, though.

The sparse piano score and ambient sounds really sell the loneliness of these characters. There's one track during the shelter argument that broke me a little. But the soundtrack alone can't carry the whole film—I wish the dialogue had more rhythm. Still, for a 30-minute watch, the music made it memorable.
