For years, Zhou Shu Yi has lived in the shadow of Gao Shi De—the boy who stole his No. 1 spot in fifth grade and never let go. Now in university, Zhou Shu Yi is determined to finally break free from this constant rivalry, only to find Gao Shi De in the same classes, the same circles, and even the same dorm. As they navigate intellectual competitions, campus life, and buried childhood memories, the boundary between resentment and longing begins to blur. This movie version condenses the beloved series into a focused, emotionally charged story of two young men forced to confront not only their competitive past but also the secret crush that has quietly defined them. With tender moments, playful bickering, and a slow-burn romance, No.1 for You captures the ache of first love and the courage it takes to stop fighting and start loving.

I absolutely adored this movie! The chemistry between the leads is electric. Every glance, every touch made my heart flutter. The rivals-to-lovers trope is executed perfectly. If you're a hopeless romantic like me, this is a must-watch! So sweet and emotional.

While the romance is cute, the plot feels rushed as a movie adaptation. The pacing jumps between scenes, leaving character development uneven. The childhood rivalry setup is strong but the resolution comes too easily. Enjoyable but not as deep as it could be.

The cinematography in this movie is stunning. Soft lighting, warm color palettes, and beautiful framing of the university campus. Every scene feels like a painting. The director knows how to capture emotions through visuals. A feast for the eyes!

I appreciate how this movie handles the pressures of academic competition and its effect on self-worth. The leads' journey toward understanding their feelings is nuanced. However, I wish there was more explicit communication about consent and boundaries in the relationship. Still, a step forward for queer representation in Taiwanese media.

The music in 'No.1 for You' is phenomenal! The main theme song perfectly captures the longing and tension. Each scene is elevated by the soundtrack. I've been humming the tunes for days. A soundtrack that rivals the best BL dramas.
