In the heart of Tokyo, Rokko has built a life as a Thai-Japanese interpreter, secretly hoping his skills might one day bridge the gap back to his ex-boyfriend, Ratanapol. Six years after their painful breakup—when Ratanapol chose to chase his dream of becoming an actor—their worlds collide again. Ratanapol, now a celebrated star, arrives in Japan for a press conference, and Rokko is assigned as his interpreter. What begins as a professional, bittersweet reunion quickly unravels into an unexpected confession that forces both men to confront the love they never truly let go. This tender 7-minute short film, created as a special feature for the Japanese variety show 'Gozen 0ji no Mori,' is a love letter to second chances and the quiet courage of choosing someone again. With the undeniable chemistry of Perth and Talay, beloved from 'My Engineer,' and a story that honors both Thai and Japanese cultures, 'Necktie Magatteru yo.' is a compact but emotionally potent slice of BL nostalgia that proves even the briefest encounters can leave a lasting mark on the heart.

Finally! Perth and Talay back together after four years—my RamKing heart is so full. Yes, it's only 7 minutes, but every second is pure magic. The way Ratanapol goes off script and confesses? I cried. This is exactly the closure we needed.

I get that it's a short film for TV, but 7 minutes with zero backstory and a rushed confession? The actors did their best, but the script gave them nothing. It felt like a fanfiction draft. Not worth seeking out unless you're a die-hard PerthTalay fan.

The soft lighting in the press room and the framing of the reunion scene were stunning. Ayano Ikeda knows how to make a tiny budget look cinematic. I wish we had a few more shots of Tokyo at night to set the mood, but for 7 minutes, it's visually lovely.

I appreciate the bilingual representation and the way Rokko's career as an interpreter ties into his unspoken love. However, the sudden public confession at a press conference raises consent red flags—Rokko had no time to process. Still, a nice attempt at showing queer immigrants' experiences in Japan.

I don't care about the plot holes—I saw Perth and Talay smile at each other and that's enough. The angsty breakup flashback and the tender hug at the end made my whole week. More please!
