Set against the vibrant backdrop of a Thai high school, *My Tempo* follows Hope, a gifted classical guitarist whose world crumbles when his duet partner, Seki, walks out on their act—jeopardizing Hope’s scholarship and his dream. Enter Tawan, a clumsy but endearing pianist with a heart of gold, who stumbles into Hope’s life and refuses to leave. As Hope struggles to find a new rhythm, Tawan’s unwavering support and quirky schemes—including an unforgettable karaoke gambit—rekindle his passion. Together, they navigate fierce competition, meddling teachers, and their own insecurities, all while composing a bond that feels more like harmony than friendship. Though the series leans heavily on camaraderie and musical ambition over explicit romance, the tender glances and quiet sacrifices between Hope and Tawan resonate deeply, making *My Tempo* a soulful ode to the people who help us find our beat.

I went in expecting a typical BL but got something even better—a beautiful friendship that made my heart swell. Hope and Tawan's bond is so pure, and the way Tawan supports Hope without asking for anything in return is everything. No kisses? I didn't even care. Their silent moments spoke louder.

The emotional core is nice, but the writing is sloppy. How does a random battle stage get Tawan back into the music program? And why is Teacher Wong never held accountable? The ending is also rushed and makes no logistical sense. It's a shame because the cast tries hard, but the logic gaps kept pulling me out.

The OST 'Thank You My Friend' alone is worth the watch. Hearing the characters perform it live—especially Tawan's piano version—gave me chills. I wish the series had more live musical numbers, but what's there is genuinely touching. The sound design really carries the emotional beats.

I appreciate that this series doesn't force a romantic label on Hope and Tawan. Their relationship is deep and intimate, and it challenges the idea that BL must be about explicit romance to be valid. That said, the toxic teacher storyline was handled clumsily—it felt like an afterthought rather than a real commentary on power abuse.

The cinematography in the music scenes is genuinely lovely—soft lighting, close-ups on fingers dancing across strings, warm color grading. But the rest of the show looks a bit flat and TV-like. A few more creative shots would have elevated the whole experience. Still, the Chiang Mai scenery is a nice bonus.
