I really wanted to love this more, but the pacing dragged in the middle. Still, the piano-and-saxophone duet scene gave me chills. The leads have a sweet, awkward chemistry that feels genuine, and the final performance is worth the wait.

Visually it's lovely—warm lighting, nice framing, and the music scenes are well-shot. But the story is too predictable and the side characters are cardboard cutouts. I wanted more depth from the rivalry and family subplots.

As a slow-burn fan, I appreciated the gradual build, but the payoff felt too rushed in the last 15 minutes. The acting from the leads is decent, but the dialogue is clunky at times. A decent one-time watch if you're into music BL.

The film touches on consent and boundaries lightly, but the power imbalance between the 'prodigy' and 'troubled' lead feels uncomfortably romanticized. Also, the lack of queer community beyond the main couple is disappointing. Not harmful, but not progressive either.

Okay, the plot is whatever, but THE MUSIC. I've been replaying the original compositions nonstop. The jazz fusion tracks are incredible, and the way they weave the soundtrack into the emotional beats is masterful. Worth watching just for the sound.
