Joe is a talented stuntman who doubles for the popular actor Tong, but his life takes a dramatic turn when he catches the eye of Ming, the wealthy and obsessive younger brother of Tong's girlfriend. Ming sees Joe as nothing more than a stand-in for his own unrequited feelings for Tong, and their intense, secret relationship spirals into a toxic cycle of manipulation and violence. After a tragic accident on a foreign film set, Joe dies—only to wake up in the body of another man, also named Joe. Given a second chance at life, he must navigate a world where everyone sees a stranger's face, while Ming, haunted by guilt, refuses to let him go. This Thai fantasy romance blends high-octane stunt sequences with raw, emotional drama, exploring love, identity, and the painful price of obsession. With breathtaking performances by Up and Poom, *My Stand-In: Uncut* is a gripping, unforgettable ride that will leave you questioning the boundaries of love and redemption.

I went in expecting a typical toxic BL but got so much more. Up and Poom have insane chemistry – I couldn't look away even when Ming made me want to scream. The way Joe's second chance plays out is heartbreaking and beautiful. Yes, it's messy, but that's what makes it real. 10/10 for the emotional gut‑punch.

The premise is brilliant, but the execution lost me. Joe's lack of agency in both lives is frustrating, and Ming's 'redemption' feels more like a continuation of the abuse cycle than genuine growth. Fantastic acting wasted on a plot that rushes through the most important reconciliations in the last episode. Average at best.

I appreciate that the show tries to portray the cycle of abuse realistically, but I'm deeply uncomfortable with how it romanticizes Joe's return to Ming. Consent is repeatedly violated, yet the narrative frames it as love. The acting is superb (Poom's eyes convey so much), but the message is harmful. This is not a happy ending – it's a pause before the next explosion.

Visually this is one of the most stunning BLs I've ever seen. The warm, intimate lighting of Joe's condo contrasts beautifully with the cold, sterile mansion scenes. Every mirror shot and color palette choice tells the story. The funeral sequence alone is a masterclass in cinematic grief. I'll forgive a messy plot for this level of artistry.

The action scenes are legitimately impressive – Poom did his own stunts and it shows. The fight choreography, the car chases, that jump from the window… all top‑notch. I wish the plot hadn't bogged down so much in the second half, but the physicality of the leads kept me invested. More BLs need this level of stunt work.
