Charlie is an energetic 18-year-old vlogger with a knack for getting into trouble—and a massive crush on his new neighbor, Mico. Mico is older, mysterious, and utterly devoted to his plants (earning him the nickname 'Plantito'). What starts as Charlie's playful, camera-happy pursuit of Mico quickly deepens into a journey of self-discovery for both. As Charlie struggles to balance his online persona with genuine feelings, and Mico slowly emerges from a guarded past, they learn that love isn't just about attraction or giddy romance—it's about showing up, being vulnerable, and growing together. Filmed vertically for social media but expanded into full-length episodes, My Plantito captures the fluttering excitement of a neighborhood crush while tackling themes of identity, consent, and the messy beauty of being human. With a charmingly small cast, a surprisingly supportive dad, and a cockroach scene you won't forget, this Filipino miniseries is a sweet, imperfect love letter to the awkward, wonderful process of falling for someone real.

I can't stop smiling after finishing My Plantito! Charlie and Mico are just too adorable. The way Charlie stumbles into Mico's life, the supportive dad, even the cockroach scene—it's all so warm and genuine. Sure, it's not perfect, but the romantic tension and sweet looks melted my heart. Definitely one of my favorite Filipino BLs this year.

Started off cute, but by episode 3 the cracks showed. Charlie's money obsession feels unearned, and the whole social media manager subplot makes zero sense. The non-consensual recording is handled clumsily—Charlie hides the footage instead of deleting it, and his dad's 'I'll get you a lawyer' response is baffling. The ending is rushed, and we never really see why Mico likes Charlie. A good concept let down by weak execution.

I appreciate that the show tries to address the ethics of recording someone without permission, but the way it plays out is frustrating. Charlie never faces real consequences, and the narrative seems more concerned with his vlog popularity than the violation itself. Mico's forgiveness comes too easily. That said, I liked the dad, the plantito concept, and the lead actors have natural charm. Just wish the writing had more care around consent.

As a filmography nerd, I was curious how a vertical TikTok-to-YouTube transition would look. Surprisingly, the composition works well—close-ups feel intimate, and the framing keeps you focused on the characters' faces. The lighting in Mico's plant-filled apartment is dreamy. Production value is solid for a web series, and the sound mixing is clean. The story stumbles, but visually it's a pleasant watch.
