What happens when a borrowed eraser accidentally rewrites your entire love life? That’s the delightful disaster at the heart of *My Love Mix-Up!*, a Thai romantic comedy that takes a classic manga premise and spins it into a heartwarming tale of self-discovery, friendship, and first love. Timid, clumsy Atom has a massive crush on his seatmate, the sweet and popular Mudmee. His world tilts when he borrows her eraser and discovers she’s secretly written the name of another boy—the tall, handsome, and seemingly perfect Kongthap—on it. In a panic, Atom drops the eraser, and when Kongthap picks it up, he sees his own name and assumes Atom has a crush on him. Instead of clearing up the misunderstanding, a flustered and guilt-ridden Atom goes along with it, setting off a chain of adorable, awkward, and ultimately transformative events. What follows is a charmingly chaotic journey as Atom and Kongthap navigate the minefield of high school life, college entrance exams, and confusing new feelings. Kongthap, a serious and reserved student who claims he doesn’t understand love, begins to open up through Atom’s quirky, earnest efforts. Atom, meanwhile, discovers that what started as a mistake might just be the push he needs to find his own dreams and true feelings. Packed with lighthearted comedy, a lovable supporting cast (including the surprisingly mature second couple, Half and Mudmee), and a soundtrack that will have you humming, *My Love Mix-Up!* is a tender exploration of identity, acceptance, and the beautiful mess of falling for someone you never expected to. It’s a series that wears its heart on its sleeve, perfect for viewers looking for a sweet, low-stakes romance with genuine emotional payoffs.

Okay, I’ll admit the product placement is ridiculous—how many times do we need to see that yellow iced tea?—but honestly, I don’t care. Fourth and Gemini are just SO good together. Atom is the cutest little bean and Kongthap’s quiet support melts my heart. The ending had me in actual tears. If you love fluffy high school romance and can look past the ads, this is pure comfort food. I’ve already rewatched the bike scene ten times!

As a huge fan of the original manga and the Japanese adaptation, this Thai version is a massive letdown. They cut crucial character-building moments (like why Atom is scared of food) and replaced them with cringey sound effects and filler. The Cinderella episode was a travesty—they stripped all the charm from Aoki’s spontaneous personality. And don’t get me started on the endless ads. It feels like the show was made to sell products, not tell a story. Watch ‘Kieta Hatsukoi’ instead.

I came for GeminiFourth but stayed for Half and Mudmee. Their storyline was hands down the best part of this show—no misunderstandings, no overacting, just two people learning to grow together while pursuing their own dreams. Pahn and Chokun have amazing chemistry and I was actually rooting for them more than the main couple. If they get a spin-off, I’d watch it in a heartbeat. The main couple was cute but way too childish for my taste. Still, overall a fun watch if you skip through the ads.

I don’t understand the high ratings. This drama is a mess. The pacing is all over the place—episodes feel like disconnected sitcom sketches. The sound effects are so overused they ruin any attempt at genuine emotion. And the 'misunderstanding' plot gets old after the second episode. Atom spends half the series staring blankly and Kongthap has zero personality beyond 'tall and nice.' The only decent scene was the coming-out talk with Atom’s mom, but it comes way too late. Hard pass.

The OST is the real MVP here. 'Re-Move On' is an absolute banger and I love how they incorporated musical elements into the school play episode. Even though the editing is choppy and the sound effects are annoying, the songs really elevate the mood. I’ve been streaming the playlist non-stop. If you’re a music lover, this show might win you over despite its flaws. Also, Fourth’s voice? So sweet. Give these boys a concert special!

I appreciate that the show attempts to tackle coming out and self-acceptance, but it does so in a very sanitized, Disney-channel way. Kongthap’s passivity during Atom’s confession to his mom was frustrating—he literally sat there like a blinking light. The mother’s reaction felt rushed and inconsistent. On the positive side, the show avoids overt homophobia and the second couple models healthy communication. Still, for a 2024 BL, it feels behind the times in portraying queer youth authentically. Fine for beginners, but unsatisfying for those craving depth.

Visually this drama is a mixed bag. Some scenes have lovely soft lighting (the rooftop at sunset is gorgeous) but others are so washed out and overexposed that the actors’ faces look like ghosts. The constant zooming in on faces and weird camera angles made me dizzy. And the editing is jarring—pauses between lines that kill any natural flow. The costume design is cute though, and the colorful school setting has potential. With a better director, this could have been beautiful. As it is, it’s just okay to look at.
