Sang Ha has always been the kind of guy who finds a reason to smile, even when life throws him nothing but hurdles. A cheerful member of his college track team, he secretly pines for the school's star marathon runner, Jin Won—a reserved and emotionally distant prodigy known as 'Mr. Icicle.' When Sang Ha volunteers to become Jin Won's personal pacemaker for an upcoming marathon, he gets the chance to run side by side with his crush, hoping to thaw his cold heart. But Sang Ha carries a hidden burden: a mountain of debt that forces him to work for a loan shark, adding desperate stakes to his sunny demeanor. As the two train together, Jin Won slowly begins to open up, discovering that Sang Ha's relentless optimism might be exactly what he needs—both on and off the track. This charming Korean BL movie, edited from the original series, blends lighthearted romance with the gritty reality of chasing dreams and surviving hardships. With its focus on mutual growth, consent, and finding equal footing in love, Mr. Heart proves that sometimes the best victories aren't measured in medals, but in the people who run beside you.

Mr. Pacemaker, you are a dream! I loved watching Jin Won slowly realize he wants Sang Ha not just as his running partner but as his everything. The way Sang Ha demands to be wanted rather than just needed gave me all the feels. Their final kiss was perfect—nothing overdone, just pure emotion. This is my go-to comfort BL.

This drama is sweet but also makes me think. Sang Ha is persistent—bordering on obsessive—yet never aggressive, which is refreshing. Still, his lack of self-worth and Jin Won's initial emotional coldness raise red flags about equal footing. The ending does address balance, but I wish Sang Ha had demanded more respect earlier. The loan shark subplot adds an odd but cute touch. A thoughtful watch.

Having watched the series first, the movie cut made certain character behaviors stand out more. Jin Won comes across as quite selfish—lacking empathy for Sang Ha's struggles even after the marathon. The actors are great, but the rosy tone glosses over real issues like parental acceptance. For a light drama it works, but don't expect deep emotional complexity. Still, an enjoyable hour and a half.

The soundtrack is a mixed bag—the loud, roaring piano during tense scenes really pulled me out of the moment. But on the flip side, the softer songs that play during training and romantic beats are lovely and set the mood perfectly. The final kiss scene is backed by just the right track. If you can ignore the jarring pianos, the music adds a nice layer to this light-hearted story.

I was impressed by how efficiently the movie uses every frame. The pacing is tight—no wasted scenes—and the running sequences are filmed with real energy and focus on the actors' expressions. The warm color grading during romantic moments versus the cooler tones for Sang Ha's debt troubles create a nice visual contrast. Han Se Jin's performance especially shines under this direction. A visually satisfying watch.
