When rookie fashion editor Tomoya Ishida is suddenly tasked with collecting a manuscript from renowned culinary researcher Ayumu Mitsuya, he expects a routine job—not a life-changing encounter. Overwhelmed by the summer heat, Ishida collapses at Mitsuya's doorstep, only to be revived by a simple, exquisite meal that awakens something deeper than hunger. As Ishida returns week after week to retrieve columns and share meals, he discovers a gentle, lonely man behind the celebrated chef—a man still nursing a decade-old wound from a past love. Through meticulously prepared seasonal dishes, from fragrant broths to delicate desserts, the two build a quiet intimacy that transcends their 30-year age gap. But when Mitsuya's charismatic ex-boyfriend, photographer Kaoru Noguchi, reappears with the intent to rekindle their old flame, Ishida must confront his growing feelings and decide if the bond forged over shared meals is strong enough to withstand the past. This is a tender, beautifully shot drama about second chances, the language of food, and the courage to love again.

I'm a sucker for age-gap romances, and this one stole my heart. The way Mitsuya looks at Ishida while he eats—melting. The food scenes are not just pretty; they're their love language. Yes, it's slow, but that's exactly what makes it so tender and real.

Finally, a JBL that treats its visuals with respect. The color grading is warm and inviting, the composition in Mitsuya's kitchen is a masterclass in depth, and the food shots are Michelin-star-worthy. I paused multiple times just to admire the framing. A rare treat.

Beautiful to look at, but the pacing drags and the main couple lacks spark. The ex-boyfriend storyline takes up too much screen time for a 7-episode arc. Also, the 'running scene' in the finale felt forced. It's pleasant but ultimately forgettable.

As a manga reader, I was skeptical about the casting of Mitsuya as a 'down-to-earth old man' instead of the suave, seductive version. But the drama's interpretation grew on me—it emphasizes his vulnerability and loneliness. The adaptation makes smart cuts, though I missed some of the manga's playful banter.

I appreciate the attempt at a mature age-gap story, but the power dynamic bothered me. Mitsuya is always in control (cooking, guiding), and Ishida often feels like a naive child. There's a scene of non-consensual touching that's brushed off too quickly. The cyberbullying plot is handled poorly. Not my cup of tea.
