Three months into their long-awaited relationship, Minato Akira and Katsuki Shintaro should be living a romance novel come to life. Instead, Minato's crippling anxiety and fear of intimacy turn every tender moment into a battlefield of awkwardness, leaving the ever-patient Shin to chase shadows of affection. As the side couple—Asuka and the stoic Hiiragi—navigate their own sweet, slightly awkward romance, Minato's refusal to let down his walls tests Shin's endurance. But when an unexpected accident shatters their fragile peace, Minato is forced to confront what he truly stands to lose. Season 2 deepens the emotional stakes with a tender, frustrating, and ultimately hopeful exploration of what it means to let someone love you completely.

I don't care what the haters say—this season had me crying and laughing in equal measure. Yes, Minato is frustrating, but that's the point! Watching him slowly crack open his heart in the final episodes was so worth the wait. Shin is the most devoted boyfriend ever, and their beach scene at the end? Pure magic. I'm giving this a 9 because the feels are real.

The first six episodes are a painful retread of Season 1 with zero character growth. Minato's fear of intimacy is played for comedy, but after 12 episodes of it, it's just exhausting. The amnesia plot in the final arc feels like a lazy deus ex machina. Great acting wasted on a script that doesn't know how to move forward. Watch starting at Episode 7 if you must.

I kept watching mainly for Asuka and Shu. Their romance is adorable, and Shu's gradual awakening to his feelings is handled so naturally. Meanwhile, Minato and Shin are stuck in the same push-pull cycle from Season 1, which got old fast. If the show had focused more on both couples equally, it would have been a solid 9. Still, Asuka and Shu's ending made me smile.

Minato's behavior borders on emotional abuse. He constantly rejects Shin's affection, gaslights him with his avoidance, and only 'gives in' when Shin is desperate or hurt. This is not a cute 'tsundere' dynamic—it's toxic. Shin deserves someone who actually wants to be with him. The show romanticizes a deeply unhealthy relationship, and that left a bad taste in my mouth.

The OST in this season is absolutely gorgeous—the opening theme with the little dance is infectious, and the piano track that plays during the emotional confession scenes made me tear up. The sound design really elevates the quieter moments. I wish the writing matched the music's quality, but I can always rewatch just for the audio. A visually and sonically beautiful season.
