In this experimental Thai indie film, a film student named A finds himself entangled in a web of desire and confusion when he begins documenting the daily life of his roommate, Art, for a school project. What starts as a simple artistic endeavor quickly spirals into a blurry haze of sexual tension and emotional ambiguity. A, grappling with intense attraction, crosses boundaries that test the fragile bond between them. Meanwhile, his playboy ex-boyfriend adds another layer of complexity, leaving A torn between past and present. Shot with a raw, almost voyeuristic style, 'Me, My Familiar People' explores the messy reality of love, lust, and identity without clean resolutions—a challenging, erotic dive into human vulnerability that prioritizes mood over narrative coherence.

I went in expecting an artsy BL, but this was a mess. The timeline jumps made no sense, and the dialogue felt like it was written by someone who doesn't speak Thai. I get that they wanted to be edgy, but a plot, any plot, would have helped. Even the sex scenes felt disconnected from the story. Save your time.

I won't defend the plot—it's practically nonexistent—but the raw, handheld camera work gave me a certain visceral thrill. The lighting in the intimate scenes felt uncomfortably real, almost like a student art installation. If you watch it as a vibe piece rather than a story, there's something strangely hypnotic here. Not for everyone, though.

I love a good explicit BL, but this wasn't romantic at all. There was zero chemistry between A and Art—just awkward groping and confusing stares. I couldn't even tell who was supposed to be the love interest half the time. The only thing prolonged here was my disappointment. Hard pass.

This film is a cautionary tale about how not to portray LGBTQ+ relationships. The power dynamics are deeply troubling—A essentially films Art without clear ongoing consent, and the sex scenes blur into coercion territory. For a community already fighting for healthy representation, this is a step backward. I couldn't finish it.

The ambient sound design and sparse electronic score were actually pretty interesting—it gave the film a dreamlike, uneasy atmosphere. But that's the only good thing I can say. The acting was wooden, and I had to rewind multiple times just to figure out what was happening. The music deserved a better movie.
