When Match (Nam Kritidet) moves into a new condo, he innocently puts out an ad for one roommate—only to accidentally accept two: the cheerful, outgoing Ryu (Jet Jetsadakorn) and the quieter, more reserved Mix (Jame Kasama). Stuck with a three-week deadline to choose which guy will stay, Match decides to document the chaotic cohabitation on his YouTube VLOG, #MateMatch, leaving the decision to his viewers. What starts as a lighthearted competition quickly deepens into a genuine love triangle, with all three men struggling with their growing feelings, insecurities, and the fear of losing a friendship. Set entirely within the walls of the condo, this five-episode Thai BL is a charming, low-stakes story about communication, consent, and the messy beauty of falling for someone unexpected. With no villainous exes or parental objections, My Mate Match focuses on the emotional honesty between three young men navigating love and roommate drama in the most endearing way.

I absolutely melted watching this! The chemistry between all three boys is so genuine—I was rooting for everyone. That drunk kiss in episode 3? I had to pause and fan myself. No toxic ex-girlfriends, just pure, sweet feelings. My only wish is that it was longer so I could see more of their domestic moments. Perfect comfort watch!

I wanted to like this more, but the lack of any real conflict made it feel like a stretched-out vlog. Three grown men sharing a single bed and the whole 'choose a roommate' premise stretched over five episodes? The writers clearly had no idea how to fill the time. The ending was rushed, and Match's character never really develops. It's cute, but don't expect a well-crafted story.

I appreciated that the series showed three gay men without any coming-out drama or internalized homophobia. But that one scene where a character kisses another while he's sleeping? That's a hard no for me. It's framed as romantic, but it's dub-con at best. On the positive side, the characters communicate openly and respect each other's boundaries later on. A mixed bag that could have done better.

The OST caught me off guard! Usually BL background music is cheesy or overbearing, but here it's modern, subtle, and actually fits the mood. The main theme is catchy without being repetitive. I also loved the sound design—the vlog-style audio edits made it feel authentic. More BLs should take notes on how to use music to enhance slice-of-life moments without drowning them.

For a low-budget COVID-era production, the cinematography is surprisingly decent. The lighting is soft and warm, giving the condo a cozy, intimate vibe. I loved the use of shallow depth of field in the dinner scenes to focus on the characters' eye contact. However, all that product placement was jarring—suddenly a close-up of a drink label yanks you out of the story. Still, visually pleasant overall.
