In the gritty underbelly of 1900s Thailand, a world of honor, betrayal, and blood-soaked loyalties sets the stage for an impossible love. When a young man from a powerful crime family falls for the charismatic gang leader who murdered his father, their forbidden romance ignites a powder keg of vengeance and desire. As his older brother swears to destroy this new brother-in-law at any cost, the star-crossed lovers must navigate a minefield of familial duty, violent reprisals, and their own tortured hearts. Packed with pulse-pounding action sequences, sizzling tension, and a melancholic nostalgia for a bygone era, "Lovers & Gangsters" is a sweeping Thai BL that blends classic gangster tropes with an emotionally devastating enemies-to-lovers arc. Will love conquer the ghosts of the past, or will the cycle of bloodshed tear them apart forever?

Finally a BL that treats action scenes seriously! The choreography in the warehouse shootout episode had me on the edge of my seat. The lead’s fighting style is raw and messy, exactly how real gangsters would brawl. Romance was a bonus, but I’m here for the bullets and blood.

I am absolutely wrecked. The longing stares, the forbidden touches, the way he says 'I hate you' while his eyes say 'I need you' — this is peak enemies-to-lovers. The rain scene in episode 8 was so beautifully shot I rewatched it five times. My heart can't take it.

Visually gorgeous and the actors give their all, but the writing has some glaring issues. The brother's motives switch so abruptly that it feels like a plot device rather than a character choice. Also, the extended flashbacks to the father's death slow down the pacing. Still, the central romance almost saves it.

The color grading in this series is a masterpiece — sepia tones mixed with deep crimson reds, evoking a nostalgic film noir feel. Every frame of the gangster hideout looks like a painting. The costume department deserves an award for those tailored suits and vintage hats. It’s a visual feast.

Honestly, the side couple (the brother’s right-hand man and the informant) stole the show for me. Their dynamic is darker and more complicated than the main pair — actual enemies with grudging respect turning into something more. I wish they had more screen time. The main storyline is fine, but this subplot is gold.
