In the high-stakes world of cosmetics, Ding Jun Jie is a deputy general manager who lives by logic and hard work. His carefully ordered professional life is thrown into chaos when he meets Ying Jia Ming, the spoiled and cynical son of the company chairman. Their initial encounters are a battlefield of tit-for-tat bickering and office rivalry, a classic cat-and-mouse game where neither is willing to back down. But beneath the surface of their bickering, an unexpected attraction begins to simmer. When a family crisis forces them into a fake relationship, the line between pretense and reality blurs. This low-budget Chinese BL gem is a testament to raw passion and creative grit, delivering a story that is equal parts enemies-to-lovers romance, heartfelt family drama, and comedic chaos. Despite its technical flaws, the undeniable chemistry between the leads and the sincere emotional core make it a surprisingly addictive watch that champions love against all odds.

I absolutely adored this! Yes, the production is rough around the edges, but the chemistry between Ding Jun Jie and Ying Jia Ming is electric. Their bickering turned to tenderness had me grinning like an idiot. The scene where they get drunk together is pure gold. Forget the sound issues – this is what BL should feel like: authentic and full of heart.

I can't ignore the gaping plot holes and the amateurish editing. Characters appear and vanish without explanation, and the whole 'fake boyfriend' premise is barely used. The ex-girlfriend's kidnapping plot is laughably bad. I get it's low budget, but that doesn't excuse lazy writing. Only the leads kept me from dropping it entirely.

For a Chinese BL produced under heavy censorship, this series deserves praise for showing a gay relationship that doesn't end in tragedy. The mother's arc is particularly poignant – her initial rejection and later tentative acceptance feels real and painful. I do wish the workplace power dynamics were handled with more awareness, but the emotional honesty about family struggle makes this worth a watch.

The soundtrack is actually the best part of this show – the few original songs are decent and fit the mood. But good lord, the audio mixing is a disaster. The ADR is painfully out of sync, background noise is constant, and the volume fluctuates wildly. It's like they spent their entire budget on one good track and forgot to mic the actors. Hurts my ears, but I still finished it for the leads.

I'm sorry, but this is visually painful. The lighting is flat, the framing is amateur, and that moving red pillow in the bedroom is unforgivable. The constant use of ring lights makes everyone look like they're filming a vlog. However, I have to admit the main actors are very photogenic – they deserved a better director of photography. Skip unless you're a completionist.
