Love in the Air is a stormy, passionate Thai BL that sweeps you off your feet with two interconnected love stories, each as intense as a monsoon downpour. The series follows two best friends, the adorably scatterbrained Rain and the sharp-tongued, guarded Sky, whose lives collide with two enigmatic bikers during a rainstorm. Rain’s chance meeting with the cool, commanding Payu — a man who is part mechanic, part street racer, and all confidence — sparks a relationship that begins with push-and-pull teasing but deepens into a surprisingly sweet, kink-aware partnership. Meanwhile, Sky’s encounter with the relentless, playboy CEO Prapai starts on turbulent ground, but slowly transforms into a story of trust, healing, and hard-won love. Both couples navigate university stress, racing rivalries, and their own personal demons — Rain learns responsibility and self-worth, Sky confronts past trauma, and both men find partners who challenge and cherish them. What makes this series genuinely special is its unflinching portrayal of intimacy and emotional growth. The NC scenes are raw and beautifully shot, celebrating mutual desire and communication rather than mere titillation. The acting from the rookie cast is surprisingly solid, and the cinematography — from rain-soaked streets to candlelit garages — elevates every moment. But be warned: this is not a gentle, green-flag romance. It includes dub-con elements, stalking, and a deeply traumatic backstory for Sky that may be triggering. Yet for those who can handle the storm, Love in the Air delivers a rare combination of scorching chemistry, genuine character arcs, and a message that love — when built on consent and patience — can weather anything.

I don't write reviews often, but this show made me. I'm a hopeless romantic, and Payu and Rain absolutely wrecked me. Their chemistry is off the charts — every look, every touch feels so real. Yes, the beginning is rocky, but once they communicate, it becomes the sweetest, kinkiest relationship I've ever seen in a BL. And Prapai and Sky? I cried so hard. The way Pai slowly earns Sky's trust, the gentle care during intimacy — it's beautiful. If you can handle the darker moments, this is a masterpiece of love and healing.

While everyone raves about Payu/Rain, I'm here for Sky and Prapai. Their story hit me like a truck. Sky's trauma is handled more sensitively than I expected from MAME, and Fort's acting in the emotional scenes gutted me. Prapai starts as a stalker — that's a fact — but his character growth is incredible. He learns patience, he asks for consent, he puts Sky first. The last episode is tough but so rewarding. I just wish they'd shown more of Sky's therapy process instead of implying love fixes everything. Still, one of the best second-couple arcs in BL.

I wanted to like this, but the writing is a mess. The editing is jarring — scenes jump without transition, the sound mix is amateur, and the pacing is all over the place. The first couple's story just rushes from one 'hot' scene to another with zero logical progression. The second couple has a slightly better arc, but the resolution of Sky's trauma is insultingly simplistic. 'Love conquers all' is not a healthy message for sexual assault survivors. The actors try hard, but they can't save a script that glamorizes coercion. Watch 'Semantic Error' instead if you want a well-constructed romance.

Visually, this series is a feast. The use of rain as a motif, the golden-hour lighting in the garage, the framing of intimate scenes — it's movie-quality. I paused so many times just to appreciate the composition. The color grading shifts subtly between the two couples' arcs: warm and saturated for Payu/Rain, cooler and more desaturated for Prapai/Sky. That's thoughtful direction. Even the rain itself is almost a character. If you appreciate cinematography, this is one of the best-looking Thai BLs out there. The plot has issues, but I was too busy staring at the screen to care.

As a reader of MAME's novels, I was nervous. The series actually improves on the source material — it cuts out some of the worst non-con and gives the couples more mutual respect. But it also loses the slow-burn emotional buildup that made the books addictive. Payu in the novel is darker, more possessive; here he's a soft dom. Rain is dumber in the show, which annoyed me. Prapai's stalking is toned down in the book? No, it's worse. But the series makes him more sympathetic. Overall, it's a decent adaptation if you don't mind the changes, but purists might feel something's missing.

I have to speak up about the consent issues. This show romanticizes coercion, stalking, and power imbalances. Payu ignores Rain's verbal 'no' multiple times in early episodes — that's not 'BDSM dynamics,' that's assault. Prapai buying multiple SIM cards to harass Sky after being blocked is textbook stalking. And the way Sky's rape flashback is used as a plot device for Pai to rescue him? Disgusting. The message that 'love' can fix trauma without therapy is dangerous. The actors and cinematography are wasted on a story that refuses to respect boundaries. I'm shocked this has an 8/10 rating.

The OST of this show is underrated. Both theme songs — 'Love in the Air' and the slower ballad — perfectly capture the mood of each couple. The background score during the racing scenes has this synth-wave energy that makes you feel the adrenaline. And the way they use silence or just the sound of rain in intimate moments? Genius. The only complaint is that sometimes the music overpowers the dialogue, especially in the second half. But for me, a good soundtrack can elevate a mediocre plot, and this one does. I've had the main theme on repeat for weeks.
