In *Love Sea*, Tongrak, a fabulously wealthy but emotionally guarded romance novelist, travels to a stunning Thai island to cure his crippling writer's block. There, he collides with Mahasamut, a charismatic and frustratingly carefree local who leads island tours and dives for a living. Their immediate, electric attraction sparks a fiery, no-strings-attached affair. Tongrak, scarred by his mother's disastrous love life, insists on keeping things transactional, paying Mahasamut to become his live-in companion back in Bangkok under one strict rule: no falling in love. But Mahasamut, who wears his heart on his sleeve, agrees only with the caveat that he can't promise that. As they navigate their messy, passionate arrangement, old traumas and family secrets resurface, threatening to pull them apart. Amidst breathtaking island panoramas and sizzling intimacy, this series explores whether two people from opposite worlds can ever truly trust, heal, and build something real when love is the one thing they both fear. It's a visually lush, emotionally turbulent ride that balances steamy romance with profound personal growth.

FortPeat did it again. I'm completely undone by their chemistry – every look, every touch, every kiss feels so real it hurts. The island setting is a dream, and I loved watching cold, prickly Tongrak melt for sweet, persistent Mut. Yes, the side plot is a mess, but I don't care. I'm here for the main couple's journey, and they gave me everything I wanted.

I wanted to love this, but the writing is inexcusably sloppy. The trauma is resolved with a wave of a magic wand, the villainous cousin serves no purpose, and Tongrak's eleventh-hour tantrum felt like a contrived excuse for drama. Fort and Peat carry it as best they can, but a beautiful ship can't sail on a broken hull.

Visually, this is a feast. The underwater shots during the diving scene, the golden sunsets on the beach, the way light falls on their faces during intimate moments – stunning. The Bangkok sequences lack that magic, but when the camera lingers on the sea and the leads, I'm captivated. A story that doesn't match its beautiful frames, but worth watching for the eye candy alone.

I'm deeply uncomfortable with how this show handles power dynamics. Tongrak literally buys a person – paying Mut to be his 'gigolo' – and the show glosses over the inherent coercion. The GL side couple has Vivi essentially bullying Khaimuk into dating her, which is framed as 'playful.' For a series about love, it misses some big red flags about consent and respect.

I came for the main couple but ended up wishing the GL side couple had more substance. Vivi and Khaimuk have potential – the bossy assistant and the shy actress – but their scenes are reduced to cringey 'annoying love' gags that don't work. Their ending is so abrupt it feels like a cut scene. The main leads' chemistry is fire, but the rest of the show is watery.
