Love Reset is a poignant and beautifully acted short-form K-BL that dares to ask a question many dramas avoid: what happens when the honeymoon phase is long gone? Instead of the thrill of a new romance, this series dives headfirst into the quiet, aching reality of a seven-year relationship that has slowly drifted into a routine of forgotten anniversaries, unspoken grievances, and emotional distance. Jae Hyeon, a busy corporate worker, has become complacent, taking his partner U Jin for granted. U Jin, sensitive and patient, feels the growing void but struggles to voice his pain. When a forgotten anniversary and a thoughtless gift finally bring their issues to a head, the couple is forced to confront whether their love can be reset—or if they've already lost each other. With exceptional performances by Seol Jong Hwan (whose tearful scenes are devastatingly real) and Park June Mok, and a tight, emotional four-episode arc, Love Reset delivers a mature, realistic, and surprisingly deep exploration of love, neglect, and the courage it takes to truly start over.

I am completely wrecked. Seol Jong Hwan is an absolute treasure—his crying scenes are the most real I've ever seen in a BL. The chemistry between him and Park June Mok is so raw and painful, you can feel the history. Yes, it's short, but every second is packed with emotion. Definitely one of the most mature love stories I've watched.

I didn't buy the central premise. Seven years together and they still can't communicate? That's just poor writing. The actors do their best, but the conflict feels recycled and the resolution too easy. For such a short drama, it repeats the same beats over and over. I wanted more depth, not just angst for angst's sake.

The visual storytelling here is quietly brilliant. The shift from warm, intimate lighting in flashbacks to colder, sterile tones in their present-day fights says everything words don't. The director uses silence and close-ups with such restraint. It's a masterclass in how to convey emotion through composition. A feast for the eyes if you appreciate craft.

The music is the emotional backbone of this series. Every piano note and subtle ambient sound perfectly mirrors the characters' loneliness and longing. I found myself looking up the OST immediately after finishing. It's rare for a short drama to have such a cohesive and moving score. Absolutely elevates the viewing experience.

While I appreciate the focus on emotional neglect, I was uncomfortable with how Jae Hyeon's behavior is framed as something U Jin should just forgive. The 'reset' idea feels like it lets him off the hook too easily. There's a concerning power imbalance that isn't fully addressed. A good conversation starter, but I wish it had pushed harder on accountability.
