Love Place: Shiawase no Katachi picks up where its predecessor left off, with Souta and Doumoto finally moving in together and basking in the glow of domestic bliss. But their happiness is short-lived when Souta’s older sister, Kozue, shows up on their doorstep seeking refuge after a fight with their parents. What should be a temporary arrangement soon spirals into a tangle of misunderstandings and jealousy, as Souta misreads every innocent interaction between his boyfriend and his sister. This 70-minute Japanese BL film captures the quiet, messy beauty of love when it’s tested by insecurity, family bonds, and the clumsy inability to speak one’s heart. With a mix of tender moments, laugh-out-loud scenes (including a brilliantly executed act of revenge), and a touch of steam, it’s a compact emotional journey that fans of sweet-but-angsty romance will adore. The film stands on its own as a heartfelt story about learning to trust—even when every misunderstanding screams otherwise.

I'm a sucker for sweet misunderstandings and cute boys, and this delivered exactly that. The domestic bickering felt so real, and that first kiss scene? Absolutely adorable. Yes, Souta is an idiot sometimes, but his heart is in the right place. The revenge subplot was hilarious too. A perfect cozy watch for a rainy afternoon.

The premise had potential—living together with a sister interruptus—but the execution really dragged. Souta’s constant sulking and refusal to communicate felt more frustrating than endearing. The acting is stiff, especially during dramatic beats. However, the comedic revenge scene bumped it up a notch. It's watchable if you can tolerate low-budget BL tropes.

I appreciate that the film tries to explore jealousy within a gay relationship, but the way misunderstandings are handled normalizes some toxic communication patterns. Also, the so-called 'prank' scene crosses into assault territory for me—it’s played for laughs but left a bad taste. Not a total loss thanks to the sweet bathtub moment, but I expected more emotional maturity.

I came for the romance but stayed only because I wanted to hear the soundtrack. Unfortunately, the music is noticeably low-quality—like something from a cheap adult film—and really distracts from the emotional scenes. The one decent song can't save it. If you're an OST lover like me, skip this unless you're prepared to mute and just enjoy the visuals.
