In this two-part special episode of the Japanese adaptation of *Love in the Air*, the romantic chaos continues as Rei and Kai, feeling insecure after witnessing their boyfriends Arashi and Fuma seemingly flirting with other women, impulsively flee to a secluded onsen resort. What starts as a getaway to clear their heads quickly spirals into a surreal encounter when they stumble upon a mischievous kitsune and tengu—supernatural beings taking the form of their loved ones. As the mischievous spirits tease and tempt them, the real Arashi and Fuma arrive, only to find their partners in compromising, leaf-covered situations. Packed with steamy reconciliations, playful jealousy, and a memorable cameo from the original Thai series' beloved couple Payu and Prapai (Boss and Fort), this special blends heartfelt romance with a dash of folkloric fantasy. Ultimately, it explores how love survives misunderstandings and why open communication matters—all while delivering the sizzling chemistry that fans have come to expect.

I squealed when Boss and Fort appeared! The supernatural twist was weird but honestly, I watched it twice already just for the hot onsen scene. Arashi and Fuma's jealousy arc was cute—yes, the plot made little sense, but the chemistry was off the charts.

This special is a mess. The jealousy plot is recycled, the kitsune hallucination is laughable, and the pacing is all over the place. The only highlight was the Thai cameo, which felt like a cheap marketing stunt. I expected more from a special episode.

I appreciate the attempt to address jealousy and insecurity, but the power dynamics bothered me. Rei and Kai are consistently depicted as the weaker partners, and the 'hallucination' scenes blur consent lines. The special doesn't challenge these tropes; it indulges them.

As a huge fan of the Thai original, seeing Boss and Fort again made my heart flutter. The Japanese couples are fine, but their story felt too rushed and confusing. Still, the table tennis scene and the night at the onsen were gorgeous—great lighting and intimate camerawork.

The cinematography was a step up from the main series—the onsen setting and the dreamlike lighting really sold the supernatural vibe. But the editing was choppy, and the recap took up too much time. Visually pretty, narratively messy.
