Love Area Part 1 is a tender Thai BL that sweeps you into the life of Kaitoon, a hardworking orphan juggling multiple jobs to make ends meet. One fateful night, he’s robbed at knifepoint – only to discover the next day that his attacker is Valen, the spoiled younger brother of his café boss. Forced to train this brash, debt-ridden bad boy, Kaitoon slowly uncovers a vulnerable side beneath Valen’s prickly exterior. Meanwhile, second couple King and Peat wrestle with a painful two-year separation that left deep scars. With a gentle pace, earnest performances, and a soundtrack by Jeff Satur, the series leans into slow-burn romance and messy love triangles. It’s a story about learning to trust, forgive, and open your heart – even when the past keeps pulling you back. The final scene, a simple handhold on the beach, promises hope for a second season.

I'm such a sucker for a bad boy trying to be good! Valen's awkward attempts to show he cares melt my heart. And that ending handhold? I literally screamed. Yes, Kaitoon is a bit frustrating with his memory issues, but their chemistry is so real. I can't wait for Part 2!

Honestly, King and Peat stole the show for me. Their unresolved pain and the reason Peat left – that hit me hard. I watched every scene of theirs on repeat. The main leads are cute, but King and Peat have an emotional intensity that makes Love Area worth watching. Give them more screen time in Part 2!

The synopsis says Valen is the lead, but we barely learn anything about him – Why is he in debt? Why does he rob Kaitoon? Meanwhile, Kaitoon forgets every single date with poor Nont, making him seem like a jerk. The pacing drags, and the side couple's drama is disconnected from the main story. Not terrible, but definitely not well-constructed.

For a low-budget Thai BL, the visual storytelling is surprisingly good. The soft lighting in the café, the framing of the beach scene, and the way they use color to contrast Kaitoon's weary world vs. Valen's chaotic one – it's subtle but effective. The handhold shot is beautifully composed. If only the script matched the cinematography's polish.

Jeff Satur's OST alone makes this series a must-watch. The main theme is haunting yet hopeful, and every instrumental version perfectly underscores the emotional beats. It's criminal that only a few scenes use it; I would have loved more. The music elevates even the slowest moments. Please put the full soundtrack on Spotify!
