Okay, the acting is super stiff and the production is clearly amateur, but I couldn't help smiling at the lead pair's shyness. The moment they held hands under the table? Melting. It's not a masterpiece, but for 15 minutes of pure fluff with a crack in your heart, it's a sweet little watch.

The story is as basic as it gets—boy meets boy, parents hate it, the end. No character development, no real conflict resolution, and the rushed ending leaves everything unresolved. I get that it's a short, but even within that constraint they could have done more. Only for die-hard completionists.

I appreciate that this film existed in 2013 China—it's a brave attempt to show gay love on screen. But the portrayal of parental opposition felt one-dimensional and the internalized homophobia wasn't explored at all. It's a time capsule that shows how far BL has come, but it lacks the nuance needed to truly critique the social pressures it touches on.

The soft lighting and intimate close-ups gave the film a dreamy, almost nostalgic vibe that I really liked. The score was simple but fitting. However, the acting from the supporting cast (especially the parents) pulled me out of the immersion. Worth a watch for the aesthetic alone if you're into lo-fi BL shorts.
