Set against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic, 'Live in Love' is a tender, feel-good romance that follows Kla, a reserved photography enthusiast, and Cake, a warm-hearted piano lover, as they stumble into love through a chance live stream. What starts as a playful dare from their mutual friend Poon evolves into a genuine virtual connection, with late-night calls, shared playlists, and growing intimacy. But the outside world isn't as kind – jealous classmates, obsessive rivals, and online harassment threaten to pull them apart. With the help of Cake's protective brother Itim and their supportive friends, Kla and Cake must learn to communicate openly and stand together against the chaos. This miniseries captures the awkward sweetness of early love, the comfort of finding your person during a lonely time, and the power of saying what you feel instead of letting misunderstandings fester. Lighthearted yet grounded, it's a gentle watch that prioritizes emotional honesty over melodrama.

I honestly loved how Kla and Cake actually talked to each other instead of dancing around with misunderstandings for five episodes. The online-to-real-life transition felt so natural, and their chemistry during the live streams made me smile like an idiot. Sure, it's not groundbreaking cinema, but for a fluffy comfort watch, it hit all the right notes for me.

Started off promising with the whole pandemic live-stream setup, but by episode 3 it completely derailed into a cartoonish villain plot and rushed redemption arcs. The finale spent way too much time on side characters and then just hand-waved serious crimes away. Kla and Cake deserved a tighter, more focused story – as it is, this feels like a draft.

I'm genuinely disturbed by how the show treats stalking, drugging, and attempted assault. The female antagonist orchestrates a plan to have Cake gang-raped, and she gets forgiven after a single apology and sent overseas. What message does that send? The main couple's communication is nice, but the moral framework is broken. I can't recommend this without major caveats.

Some genuinely nice transitions and the use of screen recordings felt creative, but the reverb-laden audio in several scenes drove me crazy. The lighting during the video calls was well done – soft and intimate – but the production quality overall is inconsistent. Also, whoever thought adding Ravel's Bolero as background music should be politely but firmly stopped.

Honestly, I was here for Cake's brother Itim and his sudden interest in AF – that dynamic had way more tension and potential than the main couple. The main romance is cute but bland; the side characters bring the real heat and humor. I'd watch a spin-off about the second leads in a heartbeat. Too bad the finale sidelined them too.
