In this intense 56-minute Thai independent film, 'Limerence' plunges into the dark undercurrents of obsessive love. Tawan and Tunn appear to be a perfect young couple, sharing a magnetic connection from their first meeting. But as their relationship deepens, Tunn’s affection curdles into possessiveness and control. What begins as sweet gestures soon escalates into isolation, manipulation, and psychological abuse—Tunn eventually chains Tawan to the bed, cutting him off from the outside world. The film uses its compact runtime to build a suffocating atmosphere of fear and tension, forcing viewers to confront the painful reality of ignoring red flags. Without sensationalizing the trauma, 'Limerence' offers a raw, thought-provoking look at how love can become a prison. The story doesn’t shy away from uncomfortable questions about victimhood, perception, and the blurred lines between devotion and domination. A must-watch for those seeking a grounded, sobering exploration of toxic relationships within a queer context.

I appreciate indie efforts, but this one left me conflicted. The plot is easy to follow and the tension builds nicely, but the ending felt like a cheap joke—almost excusing the sexual harassment that came before. The message about mental health was too simplistic, blaming society while ignoring biology. Not a complete waste of time, but I can't recommend it without caveats.

This film is a brutally honest mirror for anyone who's ignored red flags in love. It teaches that true love brings peace, not suffering, and that we can't force someone to love us back. The depiction of Tunn's abuse—chaining Tawan, isolating him—is uncomfortable but necessary. The ending forces you to question who the real victim is. A vital, eye-opening watch for the queer community.

For a small-budget student film, the visual storytelling is surprisingly effective. The cramped interiors and dim lighting mirror Tawan's captivity, and the slow zoom-ins during tense moments are masterful. The acting carries the emotional weight, though the final scene could have used a bit more polish. A visually compelling case study in psychological horror.

I came here expecting a sweet love story based on the tags, but this was anything but. There's no romance, no chemistry—just constant abuse and dread. The acting is okay, but I felt manipulated by the dark tone. If you want a feel-good BL, stay far away. This is more of a horror film about toxic relationships.
