In the quietly chaotic world of university student Ryo, life is a delicate balance between classes and a secret romance with his classmate Natsuo. Their relationship is tender but fragile, a safe harbor from the pressures of adulthood. That balance shatters when Shinya, Ryo's estranged singer-songwriter father, suddenly reappears after years of silence. Shinya's arrival stirs up unresolved emotions, forcing Ryo to confront his past while navigating the complexities of his present love. As old wounds reopen and new tensions arise, Ryo must decide what kind of future he truly wants. Set against the melancholy beauty of autumn, this Japanese BL film weaves a raw, emotional story about love, family, and the courage to be vulnerable. With daring performances and unflinching intimacy, *Let Me Hear Your Voice* is a bold exploration of connection that will linger long after the credits roll.

I'm a sucker for messy, beautiful love stories and this one hit every note. Ryo and Natsuo's chemistry is electric, and the scenes between them felt so real and vulnerable. Yes, it's explicit, but that only added to the intimacy for me. The autumn visuals are a masterpiece. I cried three times.

The premise is interesting, but the execution drags. The father-son subplot feels underdeveloped, and the pacing in the middle act is glacial. Also, some of the sex scenes felt more gratuitous than necessary for character development. The acting is decent, but the script needed another polish.

Visually this film is a gift. The use of warm autumn light and the way the camera lingers on reflections and rain-soaked windows—stunning. The nudity is handled with an almost painterly quality. Even if the plot wobbles, I'd watch it again just for the cinematography alone.

I appreciate that the film tries to tackle complicated emotions around family and love, but there's a scene early on that borders on dubious consent, and it's never really addressed. That made me uncomfortable. The acting is solid, and I liked the father-son dynamic, but the sexual politics need more care.

The soundtrack is gorgeous—haunting piano and acoustic guitar that perfectly match the melancholic mood. The father's songwriting backstory made me wish we got more original music. The film relies heavily on its score to carry emotional weight, and it mostly succeeds. A bit slow, but the music kept me invested.
