In the tender Thai short film *Farewell*, we meet Lookpad and Jun, a couple who have been happily dating for nearly five months. Lookpad often accompanies Jun to his dance rehearsals, where he bonds with Jun's best friend, Nai. What starts as a simple friendship gradually deepens, creating an unspoken tension that colors their every interaction. When the trio decides to go on a camping trip, the emotional stakes rise as hidden feelings and unacknowledged desires begin to surface. Told through a nonlinear narrative that weaves flashbacks into the present, the film captures the ephemeral beauty of young love, jealousy, and the painful necessity of letting go. With its focus on intimate moments—shared glances, silent dances, and the quiet ache of unspoken words—*Farewell* offers a poignant, visually poetic exploration of a love triangle where no one is the villain, only human. This is a slow-burn emotional journey that stays with you long after the credits roll.

I love how this short film managed to capture the quiet ache of unspoken feelings. Lookpad and Jun's chemistry felt so natural, and Nai's longing broke my heart. The dance scenes were breathtaking—they added so much emotion without a single word. A hidden gem for anyone who enjoys slow, introspective romance.

As a short film, *Farewell* has nice visuals and a sweet concept, but I wish the nonlinear structure had been clearer. I felt a bit lost at first trying to piece together the timeline. The characters are likable but underdeveloped—30 minutes just isn't enough for a love triangle to breathe. Decent but not essential.

The cinematography here is stunning for a short film—soft lighting, intimate close-ups, and those golden-hour camping scenes. Every frame feels like a photograph. The director clearly understands how to use visual storytelling to convey longing and regret. I wish more BLs paid this much attention to composition.

I appreciate that *Farewell* avoids the toxic tropes common in BL love triangles—no manipulation or possessiveness. However, the film doesn't really explore the emotional consequences of the unspoken feelings. Nai's role as the 'third wheel' felt a bit passive, and I wanted more agency from all characters. Still, it's respectful and gentle.

The background music and ambient sounds in *Farewell* deserve a mention. The subtle piano themes during dance scenes and the quiet forest sounds during the camping trip really elevated the mood. It's not a showy soundtrack, but it perfectly matches the melancholic tone. I just wish there had been a proper theme song to close the film.
