L.A.F.S is a lyrical Filipino BL short film that tells a tender story of love at first sight through the simplest of encounters. Set against the backdrop of a jogging path, the film follows two strangers whose eyes meet during a chance moment, leading to an unspoken connection. With almost no dialogue, the narrative relies on beautiful musical composition, expressive gazes, and the subtle language of body movement to convey the butterflies of a budding romance. Shot in a dreamy, minimalist style, this 2020 short film captures the magic of a fleeting meeting that feels both destined and fragile. It's a quiet, heartfelt exploration of how a single shared run can leave an imprint on the heart.

The music in L.A.F.S is everything. I’ve watched it three times just to soak in the piano score, which carries every emotion the actors barely whisper. It’s rare to see a BL short trust its soundtrack this much, and it pays off beautifully. Drei Arias has such a presence, and the way the music swells when their eyes meet gives me chills every time.

I get what they were going for, but a 15-minute short with no dialogue and barely any story feels more like a music video than a film. The chemistry is fine, but there’s nothing to latch onto plot-wise. I wanted more substance—a reason to care beyond the pretty visuals. It’s pleasant but forgettable.

This short is a visual poem. The soft lighting, the shallow depth of field, the way the camera lingers on their hands nearly brushing—every frame feels intentional. It’s shot like a dream, and the color grading gives it a nostalgic, almost melancholic warmth. If you appreciate cinematography over plot, this is a gem.

I’m crying. This is the purest, most beautiful love-at-first-sight story I’ve ever seen. No words needed—just two people finding each other on a run, and my heart can’t take it. The ending had me smiling like an idiot. Drei Arias and Sherwin Viray are so cute together, I wish they’d do a full series!
