Sandee is a tomboyish engineering student who has always been 'one of the guys' in her tight-knit group of male friends. After a night of celebrating, she wakes up naked in bed next to her best friend, Thada – with zero memory of how she got there. Thrown into confusion and panic, the pair tries to pretend nothing happened, but the sleeping giant of unresolved feelings begins to shake their friendship to its core. As Sandee navigates a pregnancy scare and a new, persistent suitor, Thada’s jealous and possessive side emerges, forcing them both to confront the truth. Meanwhile, Sandee’s naive older sister Sanrak starts an internship at a company run by Na – a handsome, controlling boss who also happens to be her sister’s ex-boyfriend. With a colorful gang of friends (including the bickering Pete and Kao, whose own secret romance slowly unfurls), 'Kiss' blends friendship drama, workplace tension, and family bonds into a messy but heartfelt look at how love can grow from the most awkward of beginnings – and how often the hardest person to be honest with is yourself.

I came for Mek and Mild and they did NOT disappoint. Sandee and Thada's push-pull had me screaming at my screen but also grinning like an idiot. Their friends-to-lovers journey is so messy but so real – I forgive the dragged-out conflicts because their final confession made it all worth it. Also, Pete and Kao crumbs? Yes please.

I wanted to like this so much more than I did. The premise is solid but the execution is a slog – Sanrak's storyline is painfully boring and Na's red-flag behavior gets romanticized. Sandee and Thada's communication issues are stretched beyond belief. By episode 12 I was just hate-watching for the Pete/Kao crumbs. The 'Beside the Scene' ads were the final nail.

I only watched this to understand the Pete and Kao backstory, and boy, their secret romance is the gem hidden in this messy drama. Every time they appeared on screen the show came alive. That said, skipping through the main straight couples was a chore. Not enough BL content to justify the 16-episode grind, but I'm glad I know how they started.

This show is a masterclass in how to romanticize toxic behavior. Thada's possessiveness is framed as 'love', Na controls his employee and calls it protection, and Sanrak's incompetence is played for laughs. The virginity-obsessed messaging and blaming women for men's actions left a bad taste. I get that it's a product of its time, but I can't recommend it to anyone looking for healthy relationships.

The soundtrack is surprisingly catchy – the main theme gets stuck in my head every rewatch. However, the repetitive use of the same sad piano piece during emotional scenes loses its impact after a while. If you can ignore the jarring commercial breaks and weird music-to-mood mismatches, there's some nice background music that captures the early 2010s Thai drama vibe.
