In the quiet, sun-drenched days of a coastal Japanese town, childhood best friends Nagase Yuma and Asakura Sakura have shared every moment from elementary school through high school. As their final summer together before graduation begins, Sakura finds himself harboring feelings for Yuma that go far beyond friendship—a truth he's kept locked inside for years. When Yuma casually wishes for a summer that will make his heart 'go boom,' Sakura takes a leap of faith and confesses. To his surprise, Yuma's response is gentle and immediate, setting off a tender journey of two boys navigating the blurry line between best friends and first loves. With no grand drama or external conflict, this 4-episode miniseries unfolds like a wistful daydream, capturing the quiet beauty of realizing the person you love has been right beside you all along. Through stolen glances, hesitant touches, and heartfelt conversations around campfires, 'I Just Want to See You' celebrates the pure, unspoken bond of cherishing someone—and the courage it takes to say it out loud.

This is exactly what I needed. The way Yuma and Sakura look at each other says more than any dramatic confession ever could. Their friendship feels so lived-in and real—I smiled the whole time. That campfire scene? Absolutely perfect. J-BLs just have a way of making love feel like a warm hug.

I get what they were going for, but for me it fell flat. The plot is almost non-existent—just two kids talking and occasionally kissing. The leads have little chemistry beyond being friends, and the ‘romance’ feels forced. Beautiful shots can't make up for an empty story. I was checking my watch by episode three.

Wow. The cinematography in this is just stunning—every frame could be a photograph. The golden-hour light, the ocean waves, the way the camera lingers on their faces… it’s pure visual poetry. The color grading gives everything a soft, nostalgic haze. Even if the plot is simple, the beauty alone makes it worth watching.

I honestly came for the main couple but stayed for the teachers! Their quirky, wholesome dynamic was such a delightful surprise—matching outfits and all. The way they support Sakura and Yuma without being overbearing added so much warmth. More side couples like this, please! The main romance is sweet too, but the teachers stole my heart.

The piano score in this series is absolutely gorgeous. It weaves through every scene like a character itself—sometimes melancholic, sometimes hopeful. The way the music swells during the emotional peaks gave me chills. Even if the story is simple, the soundtrack elevates it to something deeply moving. I've been listening to the OST on repeat ever since.
