Aoki Sota is a high school student with a big heart and an even bigger imagination. He's had a secret crush on his classmate Hashimoto for a while, but when he borrows her eraser and discovers she's written the name 'Ida' on it, his world crumbles. Assuming she's in love with the popular, stoic volleyball star, Ida Kouta, Aoki tries to bury his feelings. But fate has other plans. A series of adorable misunderstandings leads Ida to believe that Aoki has a crush on him, and to everyone's surprise, Ida begins to reciprocate. What follows is a beautifully awkward, hilariously sweet journey as two high schoolers who never expected to fall for a boy navigate their confusing new feelings. With a cast of incredibly supportive friends, a refreshingly kind teacher, and a side couple that mirrors their own struggles, *My Love Mix-Up!* is a heartwarming tale about first love, self-discovery, and the courage to be honest with yourself and others. It's a comedy of errors that turns into one of the most genuinely wholesome and rewatchable BL dramas in recent years.

I've watched this drama five times and it still makes me giggle and kick my feet. Aoki and Ida are the purest couple ever. Their awkward confessions, the eraser misunderstanding, the way Ida just stares at Aoki with those soft eyes—I can't handle it. This is the definition of fluffy bliss. If you need a happy escape, this is it.

Cute, but frustratingly repetitive. Aoki spends half the show doubting Ida's feelings, and the crises are all the same. I wanted to shake him. The side couple (Hashimoto and Aida) actually had better progression. Still, the acting is excellent and it's a pleasant watch, but I wouldn't call it memorable.

As a bisexual viewer, Aoki's journey hit me hard. The show never implies he was 'confused' about liking Hashimoto; he simply fell for a boy too. That's it. The way the characters use 'I feel...' statements is a relationship communication gold standard. Plus, the teacher's eventual support sends a beautiful message. Fluffy but with real depth.

The OSTs 'Secret Touch' and 'Ubu Love' are absolute bops. I have them on repeat. The lyrics perfectly mirror the story—Aoki's nervousness, Ida's quiet warmth. The way they're used in key scenes amplifies every emotion. Also, the background piano tracks are gorgeous. The music alone makes this worth watching.

This drama is a visual treat. The pastel color palette, the soft focus during emotional beats, the way sunlight streams into the classroom—it's all so deliberately beautiful. Aoki's over-the-top expressions are shot like manga panels come to life. The direction captures the awkwardness and warmth perfectly. A masterclass in tone.

As a huge fan of the manga, I was nervous. But the adaptation is faithful in spirit. Yes, Aoki's comedy is dialed up, but it mirrors the source's energy. Ida is exactly the dense, earnest guy I loved on the page. A few filler scenes were added, but they don't ruin the flow. A worthy live-action that captures the manga's sweetness.

Unpopular opinion: Hashimoto and Aida stole the show for me. Their dynamic—the athletic girl and the playful classmate—felt so natural and gave the main couple a mirror. I loved how Hashimoto became Aoki's biggest ally. Their straight romance was just as awkward and adorable. More screen time for them, please!
