I loved getting to see Toru all grown up and thriving as a lawyer! The new love interest is so sweet and understanding – it felt like a breath of fresh air after all the angst. The chemistry between the leads made my heart flutter. A perfect ending for a character I've adored since the original series.

As a standalone, this special is fine, but it doesn't do much beyond tying loose ends. The plot is thin – basically just Toru meeting a new guy and smiling a lot. The pacing drags in the middle, and the resolution feels too easy. Fans will enjoy the nostalgia, but don't expect anything deep.

The cinematography is lovely – soft lighting, warm color grading, and well-framed office scenes that make you feel the routine yet hopeful vibe. The director lingers on small moments that say so much without words. A visually soothing watch, even if the story is simple.

I appreciate how this special handles consent and moving on from an unhealthy power-imbalanced relationship. Toru's growth from student crush to independent adult is portrayed with care. The new workplace romance feels more egalitarian. Still, I wish they had explicitly addressed the teacher's past behavior instead of just glossing over it.

The soundtrack deserves a shoutout – the gentle piano themes and the ending song perfectly capture the bittersweet yet hopeful mood. I found myself rewatching certain scenes just for the music. It elevates the entire viewing experience, making the simple story feel heartfelt.
