In a quiet corner of Taipei, Mei Feng (Zero Chou) runs a cozy karaoke bar called 'Love God,' a refuge for the city's forgotten souls. When former singer Lin Sang (Yang Kuei Mei) stumbles in, still closeted and haunted by his youth, an unexpected connection sparks between them. But the path to love is tangled: Wang Dong (Jason King), a persistent septuagenarian, has been passionately pursuing Mei Feng for years, while Liu Jie (Liang Che), a friend from Lin Sang's past, adds another layer of longing. 'Jupiter's Choice' is a tender, unhurried exploration of late-in-life romance, identity, and the courage it takes to finally embrace who you are. This Taiwanese film weaves a quietly powerful story about love that blooms when the world least expects it—proving that the heart's desires have no expiration date.

I was so moved by this film! Finally, a BL that shows love isn't just for the young. The chemistry between Mei Feng and Lin Sang felt so real—every glance made my heart ache. It's a slow burn, but that's exactly what makes the payoff so beautiful. A must-watch for anyone who believes in second chances.

I respect what this film tries to do, but the pacing dragged in the middle and some scenes felt repetitive. The love triangle didn't get enough development to make me care about all three sides. Still, the leads' performances kept me watching. It's okay, but not groundbreaking.

Visually, this film is a hidden gem. The muted color palette and moody lighting in the karaoke bar create such a melancholic atmosphere. Director Zero Chou knows how to frame a shot—the mirror reflections and silhouettes speak volumes. Every frame feels like a painting. The soundtrack complements the visuals perfectly.

I appreciate how this film handles themes of internalized homophobia and coming out later in life with such nuance. It doesn't judge its characters for their fears, and it respects their journey toward self-acceptance. The consent and boundaries in the romantic tension are handled beautifully. We need more stories about queer elders.

The karaoke-bar setting is a perfect excuse for a fantastic soundtrack. The old Taiwanese ballads add so much emotional weight, and the use of diegetic music to parallel the characters' feelings was clever. I just wish the original score had a bit more variety. Still, the music stuck with me long after the credits rolled.
