Taiga, a seemingly ordinary high school student, is violently abducted on his way home and awakens in a sterile, labyrinthine facility. There, he is thrust into a nightmarish 'werewolf'-style death game where a group of traumatized students must kill one designated player each night or face collective punishment. Amid the terror, Taiga discovers Niina, his childhood friend and former lover, whom he hasn't seen in years. As the game forces them to confront their buried past and fragile feelings, the line between predator and prey blurs. The film masterfully weaves a dark romance into a claustrophobic horror-thriller, exploring how childhood wounds and societal neglect can turn ordinary people into monsters. With its stark commentary on survival, sacrifice, and the desperate need for human connection, *Jinroh Shokei Game* is a haunting, genre-defying experience that will stay with you long after the credits roll.

Weird but fascinating. The way this film smashes together a locked-room murder mystery, sci-fi horror, and a school dystopia is brilliant – it's like *Battle Royale* but with a strangely tender love story at its core. Yes, the plot twists get a bit too clever, but the visual storytelling and the sultry performance of Ota Motohiro kept me glued. A hidden gem for those who like their romance dark and their deaths bloody.

I wanted to love this – the premise is interesting. But the main character is a cardboard cutout, the werewolf-virus explanation is laughably slapped on, and the laser barriers made me roll my eyes. Too many plot points are introduced and then abandoned. The only saving grace is the short runtime. Definitely not something I'd recommend even to hardcore BL fans.

This film is everything I crave. It's a sociopath's version of Mafia played for real stakes, and underneath all the gore is a beautiful, broken story about disturbed kids finding meaning in each other. The relationship between Taiga and Niina made me cry – their reunion felt so raw and desperate. Forget the flaws, the emotional punch is unforgettable. A masterpiece in my eyes.

I went in for the BL and stayed for the psychological horror. Taiga and Niina have such heartbreaking chemistry – you can feel the years of longing and pain between them. The death game is genuinely tense, and I loved how the romance didn't feel forced despite the chaos. Not perfect, but if you're a BL fan who enjoys dark themes, this is a must-watch.
