In the gritty underbelly of Manila, Indigo is a young man trapped by poverty and desperation. When a mysterious figure named Carlo offers him a way out—a deal that demands everything—Indigo finds himself entangled in a dangerous web of secrets, manipulation, and his own body sold as currency. As his strained relationship with his boyfriend twists into suspicion and betrayal, Indigo must navigate a world where trust is a luxury and survival comes at a brutal cost. Blending tense thriller elements with a raw exploration of class and shame, this 5-episode Filipino miniseries pulls no punches, offering a dark, emotionally charged romance that questions how far one will go for love—or for survival. With gritty realism and a haunting score, *Indigo* is a stark departure from typical BL fluff, delivering a starkly human story about sacrifice, coercion, and the blurred lines between victim and monster.

I wanted to support a Filipino BL but this was hard to watch. The trans woman character is a walking stereotype—violent, deceptive, and killed off—which is both overused and harmful. The BDSM is non-consensual and framed as monstrous, feeding into real-world stigma. The acting is okay given the budget, but the messaging is irresponsible.

The premise had promise—poverty pushing someone into a dark bargain—but the execution is full of logical gaps. The boyfriend runs away to not be a burden, then immediately becomes one to a stranger? The twist feels forced. I appreciate the attempt at a thriller BL but the plot needed another rewrite.

I'm a sucker for angsty love stories, and Indigo and his boyfriend have moments of real chemistry that broke my heart. The desperation felt genuine even if the circumstances were messed up. I wish the series had focused more on their emotional connection instead of the shock value scenes. Still, I finished it for them.

The lighting and color grading are amateurish—overexposed daytime scenes and murky night shots—and the camerawork is shaky in action sequences. I can see they tried to create a gritty atmosphere, but the low budget really shows. The editing is choppy, making some emotional beats fall flat.

The background music actually works well—it's haunting and tense, matching the dark tone. But there's no standout theme song or memorable track outside of the score. I wish they'd invested in a proper OST to elevate the emotional scenes. The sound mixing also has issues with dialogue clarity.
