Dio (Paulo Avelino), a charming but aimless film student who has been drifting through college for seven years, finally decides to skip his own graduation—much to the dismay of his best friend Carson (Maja Salvador). Carson, a blunt and boyish social work major, has secretly loved Dio for seven years, burying her feelings behind endless bottles of alcohol and late-night jam sessions. Over one wild, booze-soaked night, the two old friends confront their futures, their fears, and the unsaid truths that have simmered between them. But when Dio’s ex-girlfriend suddenly reappears, Carson must decide whether to finally confess or let go. This isn’t your typical Filipino romance—it’s a raw, intoxicating blend of friendship, growing up, and the painful reality that love doesn’t always get a fairy-tale ending. With stunning cinematography and a killer OPM soundtrack, I’m Drunk, I Love You is a bittersweet toast to the moments we can’t take back.

I went in expecting a typical rom-com, but I'm Drunk, I Love You hit me like a ton of bricks. The chemistry between Maja and Paulo is electric, and that karaoke scene? Absolutely iconic. The ending left me crying but I respect that they didn't cheap out with a fairy-tale finish. A must-watch for anyone who loves messy, real love stories.

The pacing drags a bit in the middle, and Dio's 'mysterious artist' routine gets old fast. But I have to admit—Carson's character arc is brilliantly written. The film's honest about how sometimes you just have to let go, and that's rare in romance movies. Not perfect, but definitely worth your time.

This movie is a visual feast. Every shot is like a painting—the warm neon lights, the drunken blur of the bar scenes, the way the camera lingers on expressions. I paused multiple times to admire the color grading. Combined with the soulful OPM soundtrack, it's an aesthetic masterpiece. Shame it's not more widely known.

The music is the heart of this film. From 'Maniwala Ka Sana' to 'Hanggang Dito Na Lang', every song choice amplifies the emotion perfectly. I downloaded the soundtrack immediately after watching. If you're an OPM fan, you owe it to yourself to see this. The duet scene alone is worth the price of admission.

I appreciate that the film tackles the messy boundary between friendship and romantic love without glorifying toxicity. Carson's feelings are valid, but the film doesn't frame Dio as a villain for not reciprocating. The real star is the honest portrayal of how alcohol becomes a crutch for unspoken pain. That said, the 'tomboy' trope feels a bit dated in 2024.
