At the heart of this tenderly crafted Thai BL lies a bittersweet tale of first love, friendship, and the courage to let go. When Per returns to his rural hometown for the wedding of his former classmates Ball and Focus, the journey reignites a flood of memories from their high school days. As a transfer student, Per was immediately drawn to the warm and popular Ball, who welcomed him with open arms. But Ball’s best friend Focus harbored a secret love for Ball, creating a quiet, unspoken tension between the three. Through evocative flashbacks, we witness the innocent flirtations, jealous glances, and the painful unraveling of a friendship that once felt unbreakable. Now, years later, Per must face the consequences of past choices—and decide what it truly means to love someone enough to set them free. With only three concise episodes, this series packs an emotional punch, offering beautiful cinematography, a haunting soundtrack, and a raw, honest portrayal of queer youth navigating identity and heartbreak. Based on a true story, 'I Love You' is a poignant, if incomplete, gem that lingers long after the credits roll.

I'm a sucker for a good first love story, and this one hit me right in the chest. The flashbacks felt so real—I could almost smell the countryside. Yes, it's frustrating that it ends on a cliffhanger, but the chemistry between Per and Ball was electric even if nothing physical happened. I wish we got more episodes, but what we have is a small treasure.

I get the appeal, but as a complete narrative this fails. The two-timeline structure is confusing because the adult actors look nothing like their teen counterparts—I kept mixing up who was who. And the series just stops mid-scene. I had to Google to find out there was a movie version. If you're okay with an unfinished story, fine, but don't expect a satisfying arc.

Visually this is a hidden gem. Every frame is composed like a photograph—the golden hour light on the rice fields, the soft focus on Per's face as he watches Ball. The director clearly has an eye for beauty. The music also deserves a shoutout; it weaves through the scenes like a second heartbeat. I'd watch a whole film of just these shots with no dialogue.

I came for the love triangle but stayed for the score. The main theme is hauntingly beautiful—it plays during that one flashback scene where Per and Ball share a moment under the rain, and I still get chills thinking about it. The OST really elevates the emotional weight. Too bad the series is so short; I would've loved more songs to obsess over.

What stands out to me is the raw portrayal of jealousy within a queer friend group. Focus's pain is palpable—he's not a villain, just a scared teenager watching his best friend slip away. The series doesn't shy away from the messiness of loving someone who may not love you back. That said, the incomplete ending is a disservice to the characters' emotional journeys. I hope the movie version does them justice.
