In the bittersweet countdown before best friend Pound leaves for China, a tight-knit gang of six high schoolers—New, Matt, Bright, August, Junho, and Pound—gather for one last wild party. To break the tension, they play the 'King Game,' a seemingly innocent drinking game where the King can command anyone to do anything. What starts as silly dares quickly unravels into a night of raw confessions, secret crushes, and unexpected romantic sparks. Over five taut episodes, the simple game forces each boy to confront feelings they’ve buried deep, blurring the lines between friendship and love. With a cast that includes openly gay actor Newyear (playing a rarity in 2017 Thai BL), this miniseries captures the messy, tender chaos of teenage discovery—where a single dare can change everything, and leaving might mean losing the chance to say 'I love you.'

I am SO glad I ignored the low rating. This little gem gave me all the feels! The King game scene where everyone gets dared to kiss? Actual, real kisses with tongue! Newyear and Kris had me swooning, and the cross-dressing moment with August was unexpectedly adorable. Yes, it's messy, but that's exactly how high school love feels. I binged it in one night and immediately rewatched.

I wanted to like this more, but the pacing is a disaster. Five episodes for three couples? No chance. Matt and Junho's storyline barely made sense, and the ending felt like someone just stopped filming. The King game concept is clever but wasted—confessions come too fast without any buildup. I did appreciate the real kisses, but that alone can't fix the structural mess.

I’m here for representation, and this show delivers. Newyear is openly gay, and you can feel the comfort and authenticity in his scenes—especially during the dare sequences where everyone is touchy. The game raises interesting questions about consent under peer pressure, but the show handles it with surprising care. It’s far from perfect, but it matters that a real queer actor got to play a real queer role in 2017 Thailand. For that alone, I’m giving it an 8.

The cinematography hurt my soul. Static shots, zero close-ups during emotional moments, and lighting so flat it looks like a school project. The party scene had potential but was shot like a home video. And don’t get me started on the music—or lack thereof. A good soundtrack could have elevated the King game reveal, but instead we got awkward silence. I get it was low-budget, but even amateur filmmakers know basic camera movement.

Bright and August were the real stars here. Mark and Best had this intense, almost painful chemistry that made me wish the whole series was about them. August's cross-dressing scene where he calls himself 'Som' and tenderly grooms Bright? That was art. The main couple (Pond & New) felt too rushed and convenient by comparison. If you're going to watch, just focus on the second couple's story—it's the only one that feels fully fleshed out.
