In the intimate two-part miniseries *I Am: The Gift*, Singaporean viewers are invited into the delicate aftermath of love and identity. Shawn is a young man still nursing a broken heart after his conscripted National Service ended, unable to move on from Darren—a flame that flickers with unresolved tension. Meanwhile, in a parallel narrative, Diana finds herself trapped in the crossfire between her brother David and his wife Julie, whose fierce disagreement over how to handle their child's gender dysphoria threatens to tear the family apart. As these stories softly intertwine, *I Am: The Gift* explores how acceptance—of oneself, of past loves, and of family truth—can be the most precious present of all. A tender, LGBTQ+-affirming web series that touches on faith, masculinity, and the courage to be vulnerable, this is a quiet gem for viewers seeking emotional depth over spectacle.

I was so moved by this little gem. Shawn's quiet pining after NS felt so real—I've been there. And the family storyline about gender dysphoria was handled with so much care. It's rare to see Singaporean media tackle this without sensationalism. Warm and heartbreaking at once.

I appreciate what the creators tried to do, but the two-episode format really hurt the pacing. The transitions between Shawn's romance and the family drama felt choppy, and both plots could have used more development. Still, the acting was decent and the message is important.

As a social worker, I was pleasantly surprised by how responsibly they showed the parents' conflict over their child's gender identity. No easy answers, but a lot of empathy. The religious angle was handled with nuance too. I only wish the episodes were longer to explore the therapy scene more deeply.

For a low-budget web series, the cinematography really impressed me. The use of natural light in the HDB flats and the soft color grading gave it a very intimate, almost documentary feel. Not much action, but the framing of emotional close-ups was spot-on.
