Noi has always dreamed of trading his waiter’s apron for a spotlight, belting out songs under the stars of his sleepy countryside town. But when his mother, the fiery owner of the village’s beloved som tam restaurant, falls gravely ill, duty calls. Thrust into running the family business, Noi’s musical ambitions are put on hold—until a mysterious new guest checks in. Enter Klui, a charming yet infuriating musician who seems to have it all: talent, confidence, and an identical twin brother who complicates everything. What starts as a rivalry over the town’s upcoming music festival quickly simmers into something deeper. Between secret karaoke sessions under flickering lights and heated arguments over kitchen recipes, Noi and Klui discover that love—like perfect som tam—takes balance, spice, and a little bit of sweetness. With original songs, gorgeous countryside vistas, and the irresistible chemistry of Zee Pruk and NuNew, Hug E-Lhee the Musical serves up a heartwarming, laugh-out-loud tale of chasing dreams and finding your voice—and your heart—in the most unexpected places.

I am absolutely LIVING for this musical romance. Zee and NuNew’s chemistry is off the charts—their duet in episode 3 made me cry happy tears. The twin twist is hilarious and the songs are so catchy. A perfect feel-good BL.

Cute and enjoyable, but the pacing drags in the middle episodes. The twin subplot feels a bit forced at times. Still, the leads are charismatic and the music saves it. A solid 7/10 for a light binge.

Visually stunning! The cinematography captures the lush countryside like a dream—golden hour scenes, vibrant market stalls, and intimate candlelit performances. Every frame is postcard-worthy. Zee and NuNew look gorgeous in soft lighting.

I can’t stop streaming the soundtrack. ‘Som Tam Love’ and ‘Under the Same Moon’ are absolute bops. The music isn’t just filler—it drives the story and reveals character emotions beautifully. NuNew’s vocals are heaven.

I appreciate how the show handles consent and emotional vulnerability. The rivalry doesn’t cross into toxicity—they communicate and grow. The rural setting also subtly addresses class and family duty. A refreshingly respectful BL.
