After a devastating breakup leaves him emotionally shattered, introverted graphic designer Miguel (Greyson Jay) retreats into his art, convinced he'll never love again. Enter the warm-hearted and persistent Leo (Jhay Ar Santos), a freelance photographer who stumbles into Miguel's life—and his tiny café workspace—by accident. What starts as awkward encounters soon blossoms into tentative friendship, then cautious attraction. But Miguel's past wounds run deep, and Leo has secrets of his own that threaten their fragile bond. Set against Manila's vibrant street art scene, this Filipino BL miniseries is a tender exploration of trust, vulnerability, and the courage it takes to let someone in. With nine tightly packed episodes, 'How to Heal My Broken Heart' balances heartfelt drama with gentle humor, proving that sometimes the most broken hearts can learn to beat again.

I'm a sucker for healing stories and this one really got me. Miguel and Leo's slow dance around each other felt so real—I cried when they finally held hands. Yes, it's low budget, but the heart is there. More people should give it a chance.

The premise is sweet but the execution is clunky. Pacing drags in the middle episodes, and the side characters are one-note. The conflict with Leo's secret felt forced. I wanted to love it, but it needed tighter writing and better direction.

I appreciate that the show approaches emotional healing with care, but the consent conversations are lacking. Miguel's trauma is used as a plot device rather than explored deeply. Still, it's refreshing to see a Filipino BL that prioritizes communication over drama.

The music is the unsung hero of this series. The acoustic guitar themes perfectly capture the melancholic yet hopeful mood. I actually downloaded the indie OST afterward. Shame the audio mixing in some scenes was off—made the dialogue hard to hear.

For a web series, the color grading and framing are surprisingly decent. The coffee shop and street art locations give a cozy, lived-in feel. But the indoor lighting is inconsistent—some scenes are too dark, and the close-ups lack that cinematic polish you'd see in bigger BLs.
