In the bustling streets of Manila, Aleck and Kirby navigate the blurred lines of a casual setup—no strings, no labels, just physical and emotional release. But as they continue to meet, the unspoken rules they agreed upon begin to dissolve, replaced by stolen glances, lingering touches, and conversations that venture far beyond the bedroom. What started as a simple arrangement quickly becomes a tender exploration of vulnerability, intimacy, and the terrifying possibility of falling in love. This short Filipino film masterfully captures the quiet moments—the pauses before a kiss, the weight of unspoken words—that define the fragile transition from convenience to commitment. With raw performances from Arjay Ramos and his co-star, "Hold Me Tighter Than Before" is a heartfelt, minimalist portrait of two men questioning the boundaries they set and discovering that some emotions cannot be contained.

I went in expecting a simple short film but came out with my heart completely melted. The chemistry between Aleck and Kirby felt so real—every whispered confession and hesitant touch made me believe in love again. This is exactly the kind of wholesome yet aching BL I crave.

The visual storytelling here is stunning. The use of natural light and shallow depth of field makes every scene feel like a painting. Even the silences are captured beautifully—the camera lingers just long enough to let the emotion sink in. A masterclass in less-is-more filmmaking.

I appreciate the emotional effort, but the pacing felt too rushed. The short runtime doesn't allow enough room to fully explore the transition from casual to serious—the ending came too abruptly. Still, the acting was solid enough to keep me engaged.

I liked that the film shows both characters actively questioning their boundaries and communicating (mostly) about their feelings. It's rare to see a BL where consent and emotional safety are treated with such care. My only wish is that they'd shown more direct conversations about what 'casual' really means for each of them.

The music choices are absolutely perfect—soft guitar melodies that swell at just the right moments, never overpowering the dialogue. There's one particular track that plays during their first real confession that still gives me chills. I've been searching for the OST everywhere!
