When superstar Cheng Qing’s father and quiet college student Feng He’s mother tie the knot in a whirlwind romance, the two polar opposites are forced to share a home while their parents jet off on an extended honeymoon. Cheng Qing, all charisma and charm, finds himself sharing space with the reserved, bookish Feng He—and sparks fly in the most unexpected ways. With their fujoshi best friend, Meng Meng, cheerfully (and aggressively) shipping them from the sidelines, the stepbrothers navigate awkward cohabitation, hidden insecurities, and a slow-burning attraction that neither can ignore. This mini-series serves up a classic opposites-attract romance with a playful twist: a meddling wingwoman who’s determined to turn fanfiction into reality. Sweet, funny, and full of heartfelt moments, *HIStory: Stay Away from Me* is a bite-sized treat for anyone who loves a light, fluffy BL with just a touch of forbidden tension.

I'm a sucker for opposites-attract stories, and Cheng Qing and Feng He absolutely melted my heart. Their natural chemistry, the little touches, the shy smiles—it's everything I need in a quick BL fix. Yes, the plot is simple, but it's executed so tenderly that I didn't care. I've already rewatched it twice!

The leads are cute and have decent chemistry, but the script is a mess of clichés. The romance develops way too fast even for a mini-series, and the fujoshi friend is so over-the-top annoying that she nearly ruins every scene she's in. Skip her parts and you'll have a decent 45-minute drama.

I wanted to like this because the two main actors are adorable, but the background music was so loud and cloying that it distracted me from every emotional moment. Instead of enhancing the scenes, the soundtrack felt like it was trying too hard. A better sound mix would have made this a much more pleasant watch.

This series romanticizes a stepbrother relationship without addressing the real emotional complexity, but my bigger issue is Meng Meng. Her manipulation of both guys—especially faking a love letter—crosses so many boundaries. It sends a harmful message that it's okay to force a relationship for your own fantasy. Not for me.
