Winter winds blow through the secluded Korean retreat where *His Man* returns for a turbulent fourth season. After an undisclosed incident forced production to scrap the original footage, most of the cast was invited back for a full reshoot—bringing with them unresolved feelings, pre-formed friendships, and one freshly broken couple. New faces enter the equation, but they struggle to find footing in a group already bonded by shared history. This season abandons the show's signature warmth for a raw, pressure-cooker atmosphere: an elimination vote looms, a former participant returns, and the iconic phone booth is gone. Yet amid the chaos, genuine sparks still fly. An unexpected pair blossoms with surprising sweetness, and soul-baring diary sessions offer moments of real vulnerability. Love doesn't follow a script here—but neither does the drama. *His Man Season 4* is a messy, heartfelt, and divisive season that asks: can sincere connection survive when the production itself is falling apart?

I live for tender moments and this season gave me one stunning couple. Watching Min Seong and Han Gyeol fumble toward each other made my heart sing. Yes, the production was a mess, but when those two looked at each other? I forgot all about the phone booth. Their ending had me grinning for days!

The reshoot premise creates so many logical holes it's hard to stay invested. We're expected to care about bonds formed off-screen during a filming we never saw, and the new cast members are left floundering without any context. The elimination also contradicts the entire purpose of a dating show. It's a frustrating watch if you think critically about how the story is being told.

I'm concerned about the power dynamics this season. The elimination vote puts contestants in a position where they have to reject each other publicly, and the pressure of being 'sent home' feels cruel in a space meant for vulnerability. The production also failed to protect Yun Jae from being used as a pawn in someone else's unresolved feelings. This season needed a welfare advisor on set.

Visually, this season is gorgeous. The winter palette of muted greys, soft whites, and warm candlelight creates a melancholy beauty that matches the emotional tone. The diary confessional scenes are lit like intimate paintings. If only the production had spent half as much care on the narrative structure as they did on the color grading. Style without substance leaves me conflicted.

The music is the real MVP this season. The piano score during the beach date and the melancholic track that plays during the elimination scene had me emotional despite the messy editing. I've already added two songs to my playlists. But even great soundtracks can't fix a show that forgets its own heart. I'll keep the songs, skip the rewatch.
